MY MONTHLY RECOMMENDATION (and why):
Talking to Strangers What We Should Know About the People We Don't Know by Malcolm Gladwell
Super interesting!
35559 Part Two including Interludes

I left most of my thinking above in response to Vi's post. But a few more things

The Sibling (view spoiler)

Lift (view spoiler)

Taravangian - Well he can go and have a pity party with Moash when this is all over.

Which brings me to... I can't help but wonder what is the " right end". (view spoiler)
35559 I just finished chapter 49 so can finally read your post Vi ;)

Kaladin - OMG I agree. I feel like I am reading Jim Butcher and Dresden again. Come on Sanderson, give Kal a leg up! haha (view spoiler)

Moash - (view spoiler)

Adolin - Still one of my favourite characters, I agree with you on the father/son part. Actually haven't seen Renarin for a while! (view spoiler)
35559 I haven't started yet as I'm still finishing the Stormlight Archive which is huge.
But I promise I will get to this book before 2025 is done!!

Apparently it's set about 200 years before Priory, so also a prequel but not ..."

nice!
35559 I just finished part 2, but will wait until the interludes to leave my thoughts.

That is a good theory, I hadn't considered it

I’d say for many of us that is where reading challenges come in. Pick a reading challenge that you like the sound of, and then find a book from your physical or digital shelves that matches the criteria. Voila you have your next read!

All the individual challenges are here https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...

And for BOMs you don’t need to have read the book - in fact people generally have not read what they nominate. It’s just about nominating something that fits the criteria for the month :)
35559 End of Part 1 including the interludes

I already commented earlier up to chapter 14, so this is really just about the last few chapters, but more so the interludes!

Navani - So, so clever. I love all of the things she is creating and overseeing. It is beautiful human innovation at work

Kaladin - (view spoiler)

Syl - (view spoiler)

Taravangian - (view spoiler)
35559 I'm well behind you both, Vi and Judy. So I won't read your spoilers yet!

35559 I loved that book too. I honestly can't remember if I saw the movie. Now I need to check all my streaming aps to see if I can watch it. lol
35559 Judy wrote: "Also, I don't remember many details from Mistborn but I think I'm starting to see connections in the Cosmere and why people are recommending you (re)read that series before these middle books in Stormlight...."

I don't remember a whole lot about them other than I really enjoyed the trilogy. I also haven't been tempted by the second era.

These books are already so big I'm not sure I could do the trilogy again before continuing on. lol
35559 @Judy - totally agree about Navani. Every time I read the quotes at the top of the chapters I find it slightly uncomfortable!!

35559 Judy wrote: "all that aside, I've just been thinking about how it's interesting that Sanderson built a world here where most people don't have to be born into magical abilities, but rather can gain them through hard work and dedicaton - and not through a magical school course or something, but practical application. it's deeds instead of words or destiny that matter here...."

Great insight. I hadn't considered that before

35559 I love how all the books I’m seeing here are UNO covers 🤣

Haha Lexi. I hope you get a decent one 🤭
35559 I haven't been able to start as I'm focusing on UNO books, but will catch up eventually!
