I left most of my thinking above in response to Vi's post. But a few more things

The Sibling (view spoiler)[ Interesting they have been presumed dead for so long, and doesn't seem to want to be involved with humans, but had enough will to speak to the humans and put a stop to all of their light being changed into void light. I'm guessing Kal will need to swear the 4th ideal to get the place back and wake up all the Radiants? (hide spoiler)]

Lift (view spoiler)[ Her ability with creating stormlight through food I feel is going to also be a key out of this mess. If Mother created her in this way perhaps there is a deeper purpose we don't know yet. I wonder if Mother did the same with anyone else?
And what's the deal with the chickens! That was so curious. I'm a bit concerned about her at the moment. (hide spoiler)]

Taravangian - Well he can go and have a pity party with Moash when this is all over.

Which brings me to... I can't help but wonder what is the " right end". (view spoiler)[ Humans were the invaders so why should they take control and have the listeners as slaves. When Raboniel was speaking with Navani about how they are stronger together with shared knowledge you can't help but agree, but then Raboniel goes on to say that is still with the Fused as the 'masters'.
There is something in the Eshonai backstory that is edging us closer to what the Listeners perhaps really wanted before they started to Fuse. It seems the only way to stop all of this is to stop Odium, but how is another question (hide spoiler)]

Kaladin - OMG I agree. I feel like I am reading Jim Butcher and Dresden again. Come on Sanderson, give Kal a leg up! haha (view spoiler)[ The vision he was thrown in and how Moash is enabling this is devastating. I hope Kal can say his oaths before this book is done and show some serious shade on Moash and the Fused.
Lirin was devastating. You are so right - there is just a complete difference between the two values there. Awful. Just when we thought they were going to be happy families. Although I guess if that happened, Kal may never take the next oaths. (hide spoiler)]

Moash - (view spoiler)[ Odium has really corrupted him ; and it is funny because there is still a part of him that respects Kal and doesn't think he can die, but he is willing (and keen) to see Kal mentally destroyed (hide spoiler)]

Adolin - Still one of my favourite characters, I agree with you on the father/son part. Actually haven't seen Renarin for a while! (view spoiler)[ The Sibling said something about how she could see another Radiant who isn't a Radiant, and I wondered if she was seeing him. He is definitely something that hasn't happened before with Maya. (hide spoiler)]

I haven't started yet as I'm still finishing the Stormlight Archive which is huge.
But I promise I will get to this book before 2025 is done!!

But I think I always assumed that all bonds would be like what Kaladin has with Syl and that is probably a flawed assumption. I guess it is entirely possible a bonded spren can still be working against the human it was bonded to.

I’d say for many of us that is where reading challenges come in. Pick a reading challenge that you like the sound of, and then find a book from your physical or digital shelves that matches the criteria. Voila you have your next read!

And for BOMs you don’t need to have read the book - in fact people generally have not read what they nominate. It’s just about nominating something that fits the criteria for the month :)

End of Part 1 including the interludes

I already commented earlier up to chapter 14, so this is really just about the last few chapters, but more so the interludes!

Navani - So, so clever. I love all of the things she is creating and overseeing. It is beautiful human innovation at work

Kaladin - (view spoiler)[ I felt so silly to not see that OF COURSE he would become a surgeon! lol. I think because it has been a few books since we have seen him as a "healer" it really wasn't in my mind. Like him, I was focusing on him as a soldier. Very clever Sanderson. (hide spoiler)]

Syl - (view spoiler)[ I loved her POV. That was very cool. And although Sanderson may be trying to portray ADHD - we may also just be reading into it from today's eyes versus 20 years ago. I guess I always just thought of her like a sprite which does flit around and go with the wind.
Anyway, her bond is clearlyvery strong with Kaladin and it is interesting the differences with Spren and how "much" they want to bond (hide spoiler)]

Taravangian - (view spoiler)[ Ok we are finally here on the eve of the betrayal. I find myself reluctantly respecting this guy for his planning and his passion and solid belief that he is doing this for the greater good. And then just going off to be killed - made me think of suicide bombers. So far down in their belief system they will literally give their own life. I think he is too important though and something will happen to change his plans OR Dalinar will spare him as he understands the need to distrupt what they are expecting to happen. (hide spoiler)]

I loved that book too. I honestly can't remember if I saw the movie. Now I need to check all my streaming aps to see if I can watch it. lol

I don't remember a whole lot about them other than I really enjoyed the trilogy. I also haven't been tempted by the second era.

These books are already so big I'm not sure I could do the trilogy again before continuing on. lol

@Judy - totally agree about Navani. Every time I read the quotes at the top of the chapters I find it slightly uncomfortable!!
