Parts 1 and 2 including interludesI agree about the prologue and
(view spoiler)[ Gavilar. So interesting that until this point we have only had the POVs from Dalinar and Jasnah, really. Who of course adored him and thought he was awesome. It was awesome seeing this alternative side and makes you wonder what would have happened if he wasn't assassinated.
(hide spoiler)]In terms of those creepy critters...
(view spoiler)[ Lift does reference wanting to eat one even though she knows what they 'really are' (or something along those lines). It was quite fleeting which made me wonder what Sanderson is trying to throw in there which will likely become much more important later on!!
(hide spoiler)]I don't know about the chickens either and if they are relevant or just meant to be a point of humour!
Renarin -
(view spoiler)[ Yes. And this book seems to be more overt on this relationship and neurodivergence. I wonder if that is in part due to when this book was published v the earlier books. It is more in 'mainstream' conversation these days. (hide spoiler)]I am quite concerned about
(view spoiler)[ what is about to happen to Gavinor being stuck with D & N (and if they will even realise). Maybe this is part of him becoming more important to the story?
I'm also enjoying the Kaladin and Szeth storyline. It feels like there is still so much to happen in this book!
And the huge WTF moment from the last book with Taravangian is revealed to everyone quite quickly which I wasn't expecting. Not that everyone necessarily knows it is him, but they know Odium is someone new. It is fascinating watching the inner conflict he is having between his human self and that of Odium (hide spoiler)]

It's coming up for my 40th wedding anniversary, (wow, that's gone quickly) so the hubs and I went to Melbourne overnight and saw the Are..."Amazing!
How long was the show, Lisa?
I went to a 40th birthday party last night - was fun but not as exciting as that 🤭

nice 😄
I have a kids bday party this morning and this evening I'm going on a dinner cruise around Sydney harbour for Vivid (
https://www.vividsydney.com/)
The weather isn't great (grey and cold) but at least it has stopped raining. And we will be on the boat so can just enjoy the lights and fireworks from the warmth while having dinner ;)

Finally read
which has been on my TBR since 2017. I kept saving it as a yellow cover, but after this long it just had to be read. 😂 It was a short book whcih is good as I don't love literary fiction. I could appreciate it, even if it wasn't amazing.
It was first published in January so Elisabeth's can go to Kenya if you like ;)

well done!

Cute ;)

Hi all - I've been quite sick over the last week or so and now am frantically trying to catch up at work so sorry for being so quiet. I am just very stretched!!!
Did finish these though
and
Now onto my chunkster Sanderson ;)

You can finish it before and then join the discussion once the read starts.
You just need to finish them within a month of the read starting (and join the discussion) to get the extra points

I finished
and really enjoyed it. Didn't remember much from the movie years ago, but found the book less creepy (I can't forget that monster with the eyeballs in the hands!) although it still had a good amount of creepy and dark

So did I! With actual money instead of a credit so can't refund it. So typical kjahdas
I hope you enjoy it better than I did!!"Yikes. It is on my list too . Maybe I should just start it and if I hate it I can get it off the tbr!
I enjoyed Uprooted which is why I added it. Did you ever read that one?

I agree about the male-centric though , especially with Harry Dresden. Butcher is incapable of describing a female character without sexualising her at some point

I watched the final this morning
(view spoiler)[
I like Austria but it felt similar in style to Nemo so it would have been good to have something different.
Some of those I really liked either didn't make it past the semi finals, or didn't get a whole lot of points. Oh the highs and lows of Eurovision!!! (hide spoiler)]

Also, do the books in the other Minis also have to apply for the country Mini?"No we can only apply them to one mini
If they work for more than one you can mark it in the tracking sheet and then we can work out where it fits best based on what others are reading

Nice!
I’m starting book 5 now TT has begun - can hopefully get stuck into it tomorrow!

Thanks Richard
And it is a month - so you have until 17th June at 8.59am UTC time :)
Month 2 then begins 9am 17th June
Sammy wrote: "It is usually split into several volumes Karen, each around 1000 pages. But rather than kill my wrists with all that weight, I opted for the single -volume kindle edition instead 😁"much better idea!!

Insiyah has put together the tracking sheet and I have been testing and I think it is good to go.
Feel free to add your planned books here

There are 119 hard, 47 medium and 33 easy.
So that really forces a use of more hard books if we want to maximise points ;)
