In terms of those creepy critters... (view spoiler)
I don't know about the chickens either and if they are relevant or just meant to be a point of humour!

Renarin - (view spoiler)

I am quite concerned about (view spoiler)

Amazing!
How long was the show, Lisa?

I went to a 40th birthday party last night - was fun but not as exciting as that 🤭

35559 nice 😄

I have a kids bday party this morning and this evening I'm going on a dinner cruise around Sydney harbour for Vivid (https://www.vividsydney.com/)
The weather isn't great (grey and cold) but at least it has stopped raining. And we will be on the boat so can just enjoy the lights and fireworks from the warmth while having dinner ;)

35559 Finally read Tin Man by Sarah Winman which has been on my TBR since 2017. I kept saving it as a yellow cover, but after this long it just had to be read. 😂 It was a short book whcih is good as I don't love literary fiction. I could appreciate it, even if it wasn't amazing.
It was first published in January so Elisabeth's can go to Kenya if you like ;)

35559 Hi all - I've been quite sick over the last week or so and now am frantically trying to catch up at work so sorry for being so quiet. I am just very stretched!!!

Did finish these though
Final Girls by Riley Sager and
Book Lovers by Emily Henry

Now onto my chunkster Sanderson ;)

35559 You can finish it before and then join the discussion once the read starts.
You just need to finish them within a month of the read starting (and join the discussion) to get the extra points

35559 I finished
Pan's Labyrinth The Labyrinth of the Faun by Guillermo del Toro and really enjoyed it. Didn't remember much from the movie years ago, but found the book less creepy (I can't forget that monster with the eyeballs in the hands!) although it still had a good amount of creepy and dark

So did I! With actual money instead of a credit so can't refund it. So typical kjahdas

I hope you enjoy it better than I did!!"

Yikes. It is on my list too . Maybe I should just start it and if I hate it I can get it off the tbr!
I enjoyed Uprooted which is why I added it. Did you ever read that one?

I enjoy that series. My husband likes it too which probably helps as then we talk about the books afterwards. Nightingale is my favourite character.

I agree about the male-centric though , especially with Harry Dresden. Butcher is incapable of describing a female character without sexualising her at some point

Also, do the books in the other Minis also have to apply for the country Mini?"

No we can only apply them to one mini
If they work for more than one you can mark it in the tracking sheet and then we can work out where it fits best based on what others are reading

35559 Insiyah has put together the tracking sheet and I have been testing and I think it is good to go.

No minimum, but we can only use each country twice.
There are 119 hard, 47 medium and 33 easy.
So that really forces a use of more hard books if we want to maximise points ;)
