State of Fear was initially picked for mystery so I can still read it for that and The Winner's Crime would fit for YA.

35559 Finished Krakatoa: The Day the World Exploded for the set in Asia task, but we could also save it in case we get a nonfiction genre. I don't remember what I indicated in the signup but I may have chosen it as one of my genres.

I just got Marrying Winterborne from the library and I really want to read it. It can be one of the bonus romances. Then I'll get to the other two books I planned to read. I can also read for fantasy, YA, and paranormal.

35559 Thanks guys? Sorry to cause the confusion. I think the ruling about primary before bonus came out after I had started my book, but I thought as long as I read a primary book it could be applied, but not until after. I was planning to do Krakatoa: The Day the World Exploded next as primary for asian set book. Does that still work or should I concentrate on something else?

35559 Finally got through my first book. This weekend ended up not giving me a lot of reading opportunities but I managed to finish today. I should be more productive for the rest of the round.

I'm going to keep on the rest of my books as I think they can fit into a few different categories. I can definitely fit in romance, paranormal, and YA options afterwards. Possibly a classic if it is needed.

What do you think about putting additional rows below the hits for the possible bonuses, so say bonus one, bonus two etc. That should make it easy to see at a glance what bonuses are used and still open. Also a tab for completed tasks so they can be moved from the main tab, making it easy to see what is still in play. "

Unfortunately I don't think that would work since how I have it set up is the task and hit/miss column data is copied from the terror birds sheet. I can move the data around, but if I edit the area of the data I don't think it would work anymore. I did add two columns for how many tasks we have filled.

35559 Okay, I put together a quick sheet:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

I added Laura to edit and just let me know who else to add. I don't know if it should just be captains/cocaptains or everyone.

Right now I have it set up so the first sheet will be a copy of our battleship board and it should update as we get new information. I haven't tried it before so we'll see if it works.

The second sheet will (hopefully) update with our goals and whether or not it is a hit or miss. Then I have columns with everyone's name. For now I have a color associated with each status, primary-finished, primary-planning, bonus-finished, and bonus-planning. I put in my three planned books. Everyone should have two green boxes by the end of the challenge. I filled in my books for now.

I'll be up a bit later tonight and I can make changes in the morning. This weekend I will be gone so I can't do a lot of editing.

35559 I have more Michael Crichton if needed. Since I need to have a regular task read as well should I read my Asia book before the fantasy and mystery options?

35559 The Winner's Crime (The Winner's Trilogy, #2) by Marie Rutkoski The Exiled Queen (Seven Realms, #2) by Cinda Williams Chima Krakatoa The Day the World Exploded by Simon Winchester I am trying to read for June. My mystery options would be extra.

I'll plan on The Exiled Queen (Seven Realms, #2) by Cinda Williams Chima for fantasy and State of Fear by Michael Crichton for mystery over the weekend to make sure we get the bonus for those.

I can find options for others if needed. So how it works is we need two people to read for a task to get points. We can have up to ten individuals read for hits for extra points. Is that right? Let me know where to focus.

Can we see the game board? I'm a visual person.

Also I haven't played battleship in ages and I was never good at it. Please feel free to guess for me.

35559 I missed character names were an option. Most of the black dagger brotherhood books have a character named Xhex. She first appears in the third book (Lover Awakened) and I think is in almost every book after that.

35559 X is difficult. The only thing I could find on my shelves was Xenocide.

However, I did look and I found the following lists:
Titles that begin with X
Good Books that begin with XYZ
Titles that start with X, Y, or Z
Authors starting with X

Those should help.

At the moment I'm listening to The Three-Body Problem and reading Auggie & Me: Three Wonder Stories. I also hope to get through The Fifth Season since it's due back to the library soon.
