Some questions were addressed so as per the mods ruling, the YA square needs to be read by different teams membes
4 champions = 4 different people to read for that task

For those whose teams didn't have 4 separate readers - a quick fix could be to ask other readers to read the books already placed.
Someone other than Brooklyn and Talia need to read for those squares.

Hope you're okay Diane and that surgery was fine!I guess we can have Diane as the 'manager' of the spreadsheet and then Julie and I can be 'co-managers'. It might be useful if Diane is away or too busy to fiddle with the spreadsheet, Julie and I can step up.
I finished my assignment just before midnight (the due time) and will have a more thorough look at my books and the spreadsheet in the next two days. I should have a US book read by this Sunday though

Discussion Questions, Day Four - Parts 7 & 8 || Pages 227-312 (end)18. This book is based around biochemical warfare. I haven't heard of any cases of this in our world. What do you think would happen if someone released a deadly virus on purpose to your country, your neighbouring countries and the world? Do you think we would response similarly or differently? Taking into consideration the time periods.
19. What do you think about Gwen's act against Hook with the Katana? And the scene afterwards? I was surprised by Gwen's actions as I haven't come across Wendy/Gwen fighting like that before
20. Hook's and Jack's actions at the end of the book surprised me a bit. Hook with his gloves and Jack staying behind -
"With a last glance at the ship, he places a hand behind his ear, touching the mark of the Marauders branded on his skin. Finally, he dashes inside the burning building." What do you think this tells us about the way they behaved throughout the book?
21. What do you think will happen in the next book? What will happen with the Queen of England and Germany?
22. What do you think of Spinale's interpretation of the Lost Boys, Pete, Gwen and Belle compared to the original (or the Disney version)? The extra characters (The Professor, the Queens? Is it better, the same, worse? Why?

Discussion Questions - Day 3, pgs 152-22613. So Jack is Hook's step brother. Were you expecting that? Guess it makes sense as to why he knows all about the palace etc How do you think he ended up with the lost boys? How much of his story do you think Pete knows?
No I wasn't. I think he ran away from his family considering what Hook said about Jack and their mother. I don't think any of them knew anything about Jack and Hook
14. When Hook picks up Gwen's dad's dog tags and reads the name, do you think he has made the connection between Gwen and the Professor ( assuming our guess that the professor is Gwen's mother is correct) ?
Yes I do.
15. It's sounds like Jack is like a male version of Cinderella and perhaps the true ruler of Germany. Did you expect him to betray the lost boys. Why do you think he wants to go back to Germany with Hook?
I wasn't surprised by his action to tell Hook about the Lost Boys. I think it's because he think he won't be welcome in the Lost Boys home anymore due to the betrayal. But, maybe he wants to fit for his right in Germany against the Queen there as well.
16.The Horologia virus was sent to England from Germany. When Queen Bloodred chose to bomb the weapons factory. Do you think she did it on purpose in order to release the virus or was she trying to stop England finding a cure?
I would say so. She sounds like a cruel Queen. I think she's pinning for world domination or at least Europe's domination.
17. We now know for certain that the professor IS Gwen's mother. Given Jack's apparent betrayal and the fact that Gwen is the immune, do you think Pete will believe Gwen didn't know all along? Do you think Hook might try to convince Pete she did in order to get him to had her over?
Gwen thought her parent's were dead. I think he'll end up believing her in the end. Of course, Hook would try anything to get the situation in his favour
18. How do you think this is going to end? Do you think Pete can save the lost boys? What do you think will happen to Hook? Given this is book 1 of a series, do you think this will end with a cliff hanger
A family reunion of sorts. Gwen might be taken into captivity. Hook I think might retreat to Germany then come back. I think there will be a cliffhanger
Discussion Questions--Day 27. The novel is told from two POVs, Gwen's and Hooks. Should Pete's POV have been included? Why or why not?
Pete's POV would be interesting but unnecessary. We really only need one POV for each side
8. In many ways, both Hook and Smeeth are "lost boys" as well. What are your thoughts about how you become a Pete, Hook, or Smeeth because of, in spite of, your life's experiences?
The way you react to a hardship in your life tells quite a bit about yourself. Who you become during and after. Upbrining also plays a role. Pete and Hook are just two examples of who you could become after surviving a hardship.
9. Almost all of the Lost Boys have given up their birth names and taken on nicknames. Is there a significance to this?
Making real life make-believe most likely. I'm sure their imagination is taking over though. I think it's a normal thing in life to give the people you care about a nickname.
10. When Justice is made the temporary leader, Pete says to him, "Try to go with your gut, kid. Not by the rules." Where is the balance between following the rules and going with your gut?
Depends on the situation.

Hmm... I don't have one yet. I'm liking Doc the most so far
12. What moment in the book, so far, has made you decide you like or dislike it?
The fact that it's a retelling of Peter Pan has made me like it. The writing and plot are good so far
Day 1 DQs - Parts 1&21. I love the overall premise of this book. Steampunk version of WWII where one of the bombs dropped in Europe exploded in one of Europe’s biological labs and releasing a virus that kills everyone, but one child carries immunity - Gwen.. What do you all think?
I think it's a pretty interesting premise. I haven't read a book with a premise similar to that so I'm liking it
2. Gwen meets Pete and Bella in her hideout. Pete decides to take Gwen and Michael with him and Bella to help them find Joanna. What do you think this says about Pete’s character?
I think he's a bit more assertive in this version. Mind you, it's been years since I've read or watch a Peter Pan re-make.
3. Pete thinks Gwen could save Bella and the other kids who live in the Lost City underground. He wants to take her to Doc. Would you go willingly with Peter?
Probably not. Unless I see reason and logic behind his words. I doubt you'd trust anyone in a world like that. But for your loved ones... I'd go but have my guards up
4. The overall atmosphere of this story is rather darker that other re-tellings. I find it very exciting. Do you like this re-telling, and if so/not, why?
I actually do like this retelling so far. I think it's quite interesting with the Steampunk incorporated into it.
5. Early on in this story, we hear that Hook's mother actually put her own son's eye out. Why do you think she did this? What impact did this have on his overall character?
Some huge trust issues. I don't think he cares for her much anymore. I think it would have hardened his soul though
6. In this version, how do you think Pete took command of the Lost Children?
Similar to the other versions. Start by finding one lost boy, then another, establishing authority, etc.
