35559 I added in a book and updated my other ones in the spreadsheet. I won’t be reading them all though. I’ll read whichever has the most benefit to us.

I’m apart of 5 team challenges right now and quite a few individual challenges mainly in this group. I think I’ve joined too many. Ah well

35559 I have finished the book. I finished late last night but I haven’t been able to add it in today.

I’d rather not do a setting this stop. I’d prefer the detour or Spell it out. I can skip the stop if everyone is set on doing the author or setting

35559 Quidditch was hard. I don't know how people stuck through it for so long. I was in a different timezone from everyone so I felt like I would have put my team (Hufflepuff) at a disadvantage. I played Keeper for 2 days and I just couldn't do it. I didn't read the alien dragon shifter, the brides or the mrs fix-it books but from the sounds of the complaints, I'm glad I didn't :P

35559 Hi all!

I'm from Melbourne, Australia too. Same as Chava. This is my first Wheelathon as well

I haven't actually watched any of the Nightmare before Christmas but I think I'm going to for this challenge.

I've added a few books into the spreadsheet but I'd be happy to read whatever is needed

35559 I've had no time to read this book! Real life has just kicked butt in September. I didn't have much chance to read unfortunately. I'm okay if we move on, I will still read the book.

We could also have this week to figure out our stop 4 books and start reading them by Sunday, officially.
So, from now until then, read your Spain book if you haven't already and choose your next book. And refer to Diane's ideas if you're struggling.

Does that sound okay? We are doing the detour as well

35559 I'm happy to extend Spain to another week. I haven't had a chance yet to read my book!
So, Spain extended to the 30th?

I was confused at the start as well but am liking it more now
35559 Day 1 DQ, Chapters 1-9

1. This is my first Jay Kristoff book that I've read. How you read any of his other books and did you like them? Any other thoughts on him as a writer?

2. I was reading through some reviews by the community and quite a few have struggled with Kristoff's writing style in this book. What are your thoughts on it? Does it bother or bore you?

3. What are your initial thoughts on Mia and her abilities, the horses, Tric and Naev?

4. This book has footnotes in it at the end of the book. Have you been referring to them whilst reading or ignoring them (like me)? Are they useful and needed? Do you think it's a good idea or is it distracting and a waste?
35559 Sorry guys! I'll try and get the DQ up as soon as possible! I haven't had much time to read this weekend
Sep 10, 2018 04:21AM

35559 Thanks for the options guys! I couldn't find a free version of those books though (Kindle or my library)

I did find Sunset over the Cherry Orchard that's set in Spain! Yippee!

Okay, is everyone okay to read Spain-related book? If so, we can depart 22 September, yes?
Sep 07, 2018 07:19PM

35559 Okay well, what are people's books for Spain? Maybe I can also read one that's already being read or find a different book by the same Spanish author.

Ashley and Vicki could also do the same as me
Sep 05, 2018 06:45AM

35559 Ohhh, I didn't interpret the rules like you have Diane. I read it as option A OR option B. Not both
Sep 04, 2018 11:59PM

35559 Vicki wrote: "I assume "tomatoes" is okay for "tomato," right?"

Yes Vicky

I can't find any books to do with Spain.

I've found tomatoes in a book though

I added a little table-like thing in the spreadsheet in the Spain tab to help us decide what to read.
I've added 'Yes' to people who have found a book or can read a book related to Spain, Spell-it-out or for the detour (tomato). But, I haven't added in everyone's preferences...

We get more points with detours so I'm thinking we should try for that.
But, if that's unsuccessful then we can go with the next popular option.

35559 Many thanks to the mods of NBRC for creating this challenge and following through to the end!! All your efforts in the challenges are impressive and I'm sure we're all glad that the challenge was extended a month just to see the maze!

I've enjoyed every part of this challenge immensely as HP is close to my heart and enjoyed chatting with you all and reading what you've all had to say.

I certainly look forward to seeing you all in other challenges! :P
