I think we will rock July as well. And whatever place we end up in, I feel 100% positive about all our efforts!

Wow it is so fun hearing about travels!
I checked in our books tonight - I think we have 2 that aren't on shelves that we'll get on there. We met all our page goals and are rocking things - well done!
Note: we did fall to 2nd place by a little. That's ok. Team Ti has really been doing well on the mini-challenges - I believe for that part they are about 1000 points ahead of us (900 of that is rainbow towers). But we are only 300 points behind - we must be reading slightly longer books, and our BOM reading has been stellar. Really, all of our things have been great - so keep up the good work!

I hope that whether or not you decide to finish it, you contribute to the discussion thread! At least this post!

Vi, just do what you can with books - that vacation is the most important! I too have those sleepless nights.

I'm reading vs. listening, which helps, but I too hate that type of thing - "he wants to kill me but he's so hot....". I refused to read any YA for about a year after a book started out with a couple running from assassins closing in, and her ole inner dialogue was "but...does he like me or does he LIKE me?" And in the middle of the night I woke up thinking "this whole setup is stupid." Haha so we will see how far I get.

That sounds great to me too Nanci.

My husband and I went out of town/state to see the Broadway touring Les Miserables last night. I loved it so much!

I think it's wonderful to have a group of people with lots of different likes and dislikes in books (and other things). We learn so much more from each other, and wouldn't it be boring if we were all the same!?
My library copy of Fourth Wing came in early, and I only get 14 days so I started it and am loving it!

I think that may be why I liked them too Keli. Especially House and those children. sniff...
Shannon I'm so glad you enjoyed our doorstopper!
And Vi I love the Vorkosigan series!!

@Kerri- yay for daily questions! Thanks for volunteering!
@Elinor- so far Puppets is really good. The robot sidekicks are hilarious. It's funny because I JUST started reading it and then we got that Wheel prompt.

I think a lot of the mini-challenges (just like a lot of board games) seem confusing at first. But we will totally get the hang of it after a couple of rounds.
Thanks for the setup Lisa.

Lisa - thanks for getting the spreadsheet ready AGAIN! You're such a huge help!

Longer books are always worth more points, whether they are used for free choice or pages. So if we have a longer book that is almost finished and fits a mini-task it's fine to use it. We'll just need to continue to be aware of our required page counts. I too love the tasks - this will be so much fun! And with this mini- I'm REALLY glad our team works together so well - that gives us a good advantage, in spite of our "handicap".

Note: I hid the finished rainbows - the ones I'd like to finish are the top 2 there (we need 5 more books). So maybe just be aware if you read a color cover that would squeeze into those and count it there. But you likely don't need to specifically read for those.
And if you all want to follow a different strategy, I'm fine with that!

I did an update of our spreadsheet - the team below us was getting too close :) Haha anyway - Leslie, Undone isn't on your shelf, and Lisa, there are a couple on your shelf that don't have a "read" date, and several not on your shelf. Basically all the ones that are still blue.
I think the strategy with rainbows should be - lets finish the ones that have several finished books already in them (so that those books can get mini-challenge points). And then probably stop doing rainbows after that. Unless, of course we are done with the other mini(s). Does that sound ok to everyone?

The spellouts will definitely keep us busy! I have to plead the fifth about a new challenge :)

It's all good to go Nanci! (And Vi yours too.) And wow I can't believe we are almost done with Chipmunks - no new ones :)

I'll take a look - if you put 135 on the main page and just have your book as finished, that's enough.
Sigh I'm having a LOT of Goodreads connection issues but hopefully can get my 500 page book checked in - finished it yesterday but could never record on GR.
