We have lots of possibilities for finishing princess and rogue now that we got the confirmation from mods of just needing "princess type" and "rogue type" so I guess just see whose book works first? And thanks Lisa
Jen I was thinking the same way about this months books! I guess it can feed my "starting and not finishing" tendency :)

TinEye says black, but I'm not sure."
Kerri - when I look at the big cover in Goodreads and Amazon, I feel like it's dark green and Tineye is emphasizing the shadows like it does.
For the Princess and Rogue trope - here is what the mods decided (they did discuss it because like us, there were different opinions):We are going with you need a princess and rogue types.
They do not need to engage with hanky-panky with one another for the book to count for this task.
So any of the books suggested by you all, including that first one suggested by Lisa, would work!
Shannon (and everyone) NEVER feel bad or pressured about book count. The #1 rule is to have fun. And wow I think we are doing that!I have to go to the gym, and want to read all the latest messages more carefully when I get back. BUT....(next message)
Here is what I asked: Our team has a question about "read a book with princess and rogue trope characters". So the question is - do we just need princess and rogue types, or is part of the trope a romantic relationship between them? Or does the rogue need to protect the princess? I've googled and I cannot find a trope "definition" and I am not sure if I'm being too strict, but I also don't want to be too lenient.
If we just need the types, then LOTS of books fit, including the one Lisa mentioned at the first. But hopefully we can decide what the mods consider the trope to be :)
It looks like we have a lot of good possibilities. I don't think we need protection, from what I've seen it's mostly a romantic relationship between the princess-type and rogue-type. So likely The Demon King, My Fair Captain, and The Bodyguard would all work.It is possible we'll get that spin again - who knows!? So I'm glad we have more than one potential book to use.

Hmm I think that could work if you could justify a friend to be a scoundrel. Maybe? From google it looks like it needs to be some type of romantic relationship. It's honestly not a trope I'm super familiar with! I do have a Star Wars book I could read called The Princess, the Scoundrel, and the Farm Boy. But I have 2 books I'd need to finish first.

Let's end July with a bang! (The happy, non-destructive kind.) We are now in 2nd place, but it's close! And I think we can pull off a win!

Books of the Month

Rainbow Towers: PLEASE keep marking any of your books that have colored covers. At the current rate we will have the TT spellouts done in early July, and this will be our only way besides Wheel to gain points. So that spreadsheet column noting colored cover (when applicable) is super important.
Chipmunks: We are almost done
Wheel: Remember we can only use books finished after we get the tasks. But we can do infinite Wheel spins.
Page points: the most important! Just reading as much as you can (but of course real life is more important).
Oh and I woke up thinking I was probably way too strict with my Princess and Rogue interpretation. I do think we need different social classes, and one of them being a scoundrel. Like....(Princess) Leia and Han Solo, Lady and the Tramp, etc.
So confession...much as I hate all those YA tropes we discussed, I'm really enjoying Fourth Wing. I think perhaps because I'm reading vs. listening? I can make Violet in my head a lot less whiney and it's easier to ignore the whole "he's so hot" at inappropriate times. But mostly, it's because I love dragons, so...
Oh and just a reminder for the HUGE books (Kirsten you are amazing!) after 1000 pages you don't get more page points. So you'd want to keep it pretty close to or under 1000.
I can't tell enough about the plot. I think we need some kind of royalty (prince or princess) in love with a scoundrel.
I think we will rock July as well. And whatever place we end up in, I feel 100% positive about all our efforts!
Wow it is so fun hearing about travels!I checked in our books tonight - I think we have 2 that aren't on shelves that we'll get on there. We met all our page goals and are rocking things - well done!
Note: we did fall to 2nd place by a little. That's ok. Team Ti has really been doing well on the mini-challenges - I believe for that part they are about 1000 points ahead of us (900 of that is rainbow towers). But we are only 300 points behind - we must be reading slightly longer books, and our BOM reading has been stellar. Really, all of our things have been great - so keep up the good work!
Keli wrote: "I really don't want to ruin this book for any one and if you love it, take everything I say with a grain of salt. I am very much in the minority opinion. Here, however, are my impressions."Keli - this was, and will remain, the favorite thing I have read all day. Oh man - so spot on.
I hope that whether or not you decide to finish it, you contribute to the discussion thread! At least this post!
Vi, just do what you can with books - that vacation is the most important! I too have those sleepless nights.
