Hi Team!! I'm checking in after a long time. I'm at my mom's place and our Dussera festival just ended yesterday. I should be more active now.Great Job, Rebecca & Catherine!! I love both of your stories!
Good Morning, Team!! My RL is really busy with visitors and reading, GR time has taken a backseat. I think I'm having withdrawal!I haven't had much reading done lately but I manged to squeeze in 2 hours today(which was more time than last week). I finished off
today. I liked it - a fantasy book with UF like female lead. I find the world and the characters intriguing even though the book had the beginning of the dreaded Love Triangle. The biggest drawback was that the starting half was slow paced and I kept putting the book down. I'm definitely picking up the next in series.I'm flying back to my mother's home tomorrow and I might not get to check in for a couple of days. I hope everybody's kicking butts in the October Challenge!
Wasn't Kat Martin a recent FAC at RRRC? How's her books, Leslie? I totally forgot to try her out..It's Oct 4 here already but there is still nearly 13 hours to go for the Challenge start time :( :( So close yet SO FAR!

Oh, anytime after 26 is busy-time. Close to Diwali which means visiting time. I'll try to join in by starting early so I have time to participate.
I've managed to finish only ONE book this week so far -
. I had such high hopes for this book due to the reviews that said the subject matter (rape) was dealt very tactfully. It was but the writing irritated me too much. The uber main thing was that the characters really smirked a lot. Every other page had this usage of smirk. I really wished the author would have looked up the meaning of smirk. Otherwise, I could just say the book didn't move me as much as it did others. And it also falls into the new NA trend where the next book is from the PoV of the male lead. Essentially the same book. I don't understand this NA trend at all.
I'm sort of getting a YA/NA fatigue - all these mediocre books is translating to a book fatigue too. So to revive myself, going back to my favorite - Western Genre with
. I have high hopes!
Melissa, what we're planning is that all of us will post in our team's Banshee Thread(we haven't decided the frequency yet. Will let you know soon)Then one of the captains will condense all the messages and post it in the official thread.
I hope that was clear.

Good Morning, Team! Hope everyone had a fun weekend!I finished up
earlier today. It was just ok - the book took a while to get going and it was boring in the meantime. The main protagonists weren't that interesting especially the female MC. I couldn't care less about either of them. And the suspense portion was very weak with the female MC becoming TSTL towards the end. Argh. Waste of my time. Thankfully, I didn't buy it.
Good Morning, Team!I had two busy days when I didn't get much reading done. I had barely read 100 pages - a record! But today, I sat down and read
and it was really delightful. I'm not sure if I've read Carla Kelly before (though I seem to have heard of her) but this book was really, really good. I loved the MC, the subtle humour and the characterizations. Oh and the title too. Another author whose backlist I need to check. Finally, a very interesting Regency Romance.
~Leslie~ wrote: "I have never heard of Edith Layton - I thought I read a lot of regency romances, but obviously I missed one. And how could I miss deals. Something is not right in the world!Finished my Sherrilyn ..."
I'm about to break down and buy one or two. (Ha!) She seems very familiar.
Leslie, I'm always interested in Genetics. I tried very hard to major in it after college but my marks weren't good enough.
Leslie, I took a genetics course. They had weekly homework thingy and the discussion in the forums were pretty good too. I actually liked it - it made me miss college just a little bit.Wow, Judy! Your books sound really good. I haven't decided which book to start next and there are soo many choices. And let me know how that Sarah McLean book is - I have it loaded on Kindle too.
Has anybody read Edith Layton? There's been deals on her books and it's sooo tempting to pick them up.
