Good Morning, Team! Hope everyone had a fun weekend!

I finished up earlier today. It was just ok - the book took a while to get going and it was boring in the meantime. The main protagonists weren't that interesting especially the female MC. I couldn't care less about either of them. And the suspense portion was very weak with the female MC becoming TSTL towards the end. Argh. Waste of my time. Thankfully, I didn't buy it.

I had two busy days when I didn't get much reading done. I had barely read 100 pages - a record! But today, I sat down and read and it was really delightful. I'm not sure if I've read Carla Kelly before (though I seem to have heard of her) but this book was really, really good. I loved the MC, the subtle humour and the characterizations. Oh and the title too. Another author whose backlist I need to check. Finally, a very interesting Regency Romance.

Leslie, I'm always interested in Genetics. I tried very hard to major in it after college but my marks weren't good enough.

Leslie, I took a genetics course. They had weekly homework thingy and the discussion in the forums were pretty good too. I actually liked it - it made me miss college just a little bit.

Wow, Judy! Your books sound really good. I haven't decided which book to start next and there are soo many choices. And let me know how that Sarah McLean book is - I have it loaded on Kindle too.

Has anybody read Edith Layton? There's been deals on her books and it's sooo tempting to pick them up.

You should, Leslie. The first books takes a while to set up - it's the longest at almost 1000 pages but I really enjoyed it. Phedre is such an awesome heroine and the world Carey built was very very interesting. It's one of my favorite Fantasy series.

And I know about Coursera - I took a course some 8 months back but I couldn't really complete it. It was fun, though!

I just finished re-reading -I've been wanting to read it ever since one my groups had a dark-fantasy month. I managed to gobble it in 2 days which must be a record (it's nearly 800 pages) It's one of the BEST trilogy endings I've ever read. And it's the best trilogy of Carey's. Now I need to find something light to read.

Wow, LK! You really compared the movie and the book! The only plus point I can wholeheartedly say for the movie is that Harry's angstyness is portrayed well - especially for those who don't like teenage angst. The movie doesn't really advance the plot points as the book does. Maybe they didn't want to spend too much time talking?

I stayed up yesterday night to . It was a good end to the trilogy though I'm a little on the fence about the way things played out. The book's still on my mind which is a great thing to say about it.

HP OoP

I finished OoP just before I left for my vacation. I loved listening to the audiobook - the angsty-ness was written very well. And I love how the other characters are developed in the book - especially Luna & Neville.

I'm starting tomorrow. I can't emphasize how much I'm enjoying Jim Dale's narration. I'm noticing more details this time around.

I'm back from my mini-vacation - we had an awesome time at Bali but I definitely need to visit it again. Such a beautiful place.

I didn't have much time to read but I managed to finish (A really good fantasy set in feudal Japan - I need to find more books like these) & (A re-read - I'm currently re-reading this massive series and I felt this one was a little OTT with its ending.)

And having a relaxing day finished (An enjoyable MG fantasy?) today while Hubby cooked. Bliss!!
