35559 Our next genre is Chick Lit. I was just thinking the other day that I had lots of C. Let me go see where those books are now.

35559 I finished all the three books - Reckless (The House of Rohan, #2) by Anne Stuart , Firewalker (Stormwalker, #2) by Allyson James & White Night (The Dresden Files, #9) by Jim Butcher . I think that's it for this week.

35559 Ok then, I'm reading Reckless (The House of Rohan, #2) by Anne Stuart (fits R, A, S) and then Firewalker (Stormwalker, #2) by Allyson James (fits F, A, S). I will hopefully finish off White Night (The Dresden Files, #9) by Jim Butcher (fits B, T) before Sunday. I have four chapters remaining on the audio.

I might not be able to check in tomorrow, Friday. If I can't, I'll do an update by Saturday.

35559 I finished the the Apprentice. I liked the addition to the series - I was able to connect with Jane better in this book. She's really amazing. I'm definitely picking up the next book in the series.

tc, is there any letter than we need or can I just read any book? I'm still debating on my next book.

Thanks, Ange. Last week for a really good one for the team as well. We're doing a great job with the reading!

35559 Wow, TC! That's really impressive.

I finally finished Mortal Danger (World of the Lupi, #2) by Eileen Wilks . It will work for Y - (char Lily Yu), R, T - (char Rule Turner). I will most probably finish off Serendipity (Southern Comfort #1) by Lisa Clark O'Neill which will work for S - title, A - char Ava before I sleep today.

35559 My next week will be very busy. Starting tomorrow, I have a lot of religious ceremonies this week. Only Tuesday and Wednesday are technically free but it will be gone in preparation. My reading time and GR time will definitely be limited.

I'll probably check-in late tomorrow morning. The books I'm definitely reading are:

- Serendipity by Lisa Clark O'Neill
- Mortal Danger by Eileen Wilks
- The Apprentice by Tess Gerritsen

Rest of the books depend on the time and the letters. I'll decide after checking in tomorrow.

35559 My last book for this week - Just This Once by Rosalind James. It works for R - author, E - Escape to New Zealand series, D - character Drew, A - char Arianna, M - char Matt.

A very ok read - slightly boring. On the other hand, I'm proud of myself. I've finished 8 books this week. A record definitely.

35559 Looks like a fun day, TC! Enjoy :)

35559 I finished Texas Glory (Texas Trilogy, #2) by Lorraine Heath on 9 August. Works for L, D - char dallas, A - Austin, M - Cameron McQueen, R - Rawley.

35559 Ah, Ok Karen.

I finished Promises by Marie Sexton. It works for M (author), L (char name Lizzie), R (char Matt Richards)

I can probably get in one another book - either Just This Once (Escape to New Zealand, #1) by Rosalind James (R - author or D - char Drew) or Texas Glory (Texas Trilogy, #2) by Lorraine Heath (L - author, D - char Dallas, M - char Cordelia McQueen)

35559 I finished The Surgeon - I really liked the book; they mystery was written well. I was completely engrossed in it. The only not-so-great point was Jane Rizzoli - she was a little prickly but I admired her determination. I'm still reserving judgement about her. I already downloaded the next book in the series - another good series that I'm looking forward to read.

35559 Karen, Susan Elizabeth Philips is the name of the author. Sorry, I should have been more clear. Does middle name of author count?
Aug 06, 2014 07:47AM

35559 Thanks, TC. The series just came on my radar and my library had a ready copy. I'm getting lucky with my books.

I have a question: Will Susan Elizabeth Philips count for letter E?

35559 From the reviews I've read, it says she'll appear only in the second book. Apparently, there's a TV series based on this series..?! I didn't know. Anyway this is the review I'm basing it on : https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

If you shift my Abercrombie book from G to D, the Safe-Keeper's to I, then the Surgeon can fit G. Sorry for the trouble TC but I'm really excited to read the book now and I'd rather not put it off.
Aug 06, 2014 06:55AM

35559 Oh yeah, I was about to ask that, TC. I thought the game has 2 more weeks left. I would like to continue with the game as well. I'm having so much fun with it. And it's so good for my reading and TBR. I would definitely like to continue as well.

35559 I finished up

The Rosie Project (Don Tillman #1) by Graeme Simsion by Graeme Simsion - works for D (char Don), R (title), G (author)

The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate by Jacqueline Kelly by Jacqueline Kelly - works for E (title), M (char Margaret).

Planning to start The Surgeon (Rizzoli & Isles #1) by Tess Gerritsen by Tess Gerritsen - will work G, R (char name - Rizzoli)

35559 I finished two books so far - both have a lot of characters than can work for us:

The Blade Itself (The First Law, #1) by Joe Abercrombie - This took me a while to get through because it had a lot of gore that I had to stop reading and it was slightly long. It took me a while to get into but once I did, I really liked it. I would definitely be continuing the series.(works for G (Glokta), L (Logen), D (Dogman), M (Marvoria))

The Safe-Keeper's Secret (Safe-Keepers, #1) by Sharon Shinn - A very quiet fantasy that I really enjoyed. A perfect counterpoint to the Abercrombie book. (D - Damiana, R - Reed, I - Isadora, A - Angeline)

My next two books:
- The Rosie Project
- The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate

I can probably get to more this week. It looks like next week will be slow for me.

When is your library getting it? But I think you should probably get it - it's worth buying.

35559 Aright go ahead, TC. I checked the rules of the team challenge and it meets the page count.
