Oh thanks ladies! Last week was such a rush that I forgot about this book. I'll keep in mind

Oh thanks for catching that Mel.

Hey everyone! Was AWOL for a bit. My friends came to visit Netherlands with their family and we had a blast meeting after a long time. It was tiring and I barely got time to read. They left yesterday and I'm just lazing around today.
But yesterday was far too hot - no AC here too as it's not common and we went out boating. Far far too hot.

Happily, no miscommunication. The book could have had an edit to make it slightly short but apart from that was good. I finished it quickly so always a plus (as opposed to putting it down constantly).

It was a good reading month for me too.
Archangel's Ascension hit harder than I was prepared for - the series is getting to an end and the author took into a direction that I didn't expect to (even though it was foreshadowed)
Whatever You Do, Don't Run: True Tales of a Botswana Safari Guide - First of this kind for me even though I have extensively read
Jim Corbett when I was 14 years old. The tone is totally different and audiobook elevated the experience more than normal reading.
First-Time Caller - a cute, non-idiotic romance after a long time.
I didn't like
Splendor - the last 20% especially made me mad.

Ooh, the cheese looks good! I would like to try it too.
I finished
The Awakening and even though I have a long TBR I don't know what to read.....

Thanks, Mel! Fiji turned out to be the easiest 'hard' country for me. Who would have guessed?!!

I read
Branded by Fire by Nalini Singh.. It will work for Fiji but that also means Fiji will be done. Shall I place there? Or if someone else wants to read a book set in Fiji, I can place it somewhere else.

oh, no problem. I will be reading
The Awakening. Hopefully I can get through it. 🤞

Mel, it just says Read a book that is on the Best Unknown but must be Known books List. Does it have to be within a specific page number?

For the Best Unknown but must be Known books -> Does it have to be any specific page number? I found a book at page 86 that will work for another challenge (and also has Z!)

sharing for the Friday feeling
and for anyone trying to stay awake on swaying train

End of Day 6.
Ch 75:
(view spoiler)[Kaladin was annoying but he has gotten better. Loving the direction with Syl. Szeth's history is in a lot of ways sad - one small misstep blooming into bigger ones and not what was wished too. I'm glad he has his father but worried what will happen to him (hide spoiler)]Dalinar and Storm father
(view spoiler)[Could Stormfather be actually Honour's power? Far fetched but... Also, the conversation between Stormfather and Dalinar. lots of hard truths in that. And that highlighted the difference with Kaladin and Syl who have a bond with full trust but Dalinar and Stormfather do not. (hide spoiler)]Odium.... you said it better Karen. Fully invested but I also have to read for TT. Conundrums!

Done, thanks!

Wow. You are speeding through Karen! I am somewhere in Day 6 still. I will read the spoilers after I'm doing with Day 6. It was a long weekend here so I didn't get much reading or listening done.
KayLynn wrote: "@Vi - You're starting the Dresden Files??? I'm so excited for you! It starts just ok but gets so so good."Thanks KayLynn! This is my second time.. last time I started it I stopped somewhere around 7th or 8th book.. I wanted to get back to he series but so starting from the beginning again. I do remember the first 2 being just okay-ish.

Woot! Thanks Fiona!

On the subject of cap, I have a question. If I don't meet my limits or cap, but somebody has read over, can their books be used to fill the deficiency?
Fiona wrote: "Vi - you can check in the “Mini 1” tab on our spreadsheet. Next to the itineraries (in column H if I’m not mistaken) is a list of countries. If a country is white, it can be read for 2 more times, ..."Thanks Fiona! I've entered my books into planned. Hopefully I do get to them.

I must be missing something but how do I check which countries are done? I have
The Thirteenth Month that is apparently set in Ethiopia and
Archangel's Ascension for Fiji.
