Me too! I love my e-reader and I don't go out without it. I'm slowly taking over hubby's iPad also (Poor guy. He doesn't know it yet) I'm slowly converting my book collection to e-books. I had to shift twice in a year and the first thing that got the axe was those extra books that I couldn't shift internationally. Ebooks to the rescue.
Have a great day, folks! It's bedtime for me.
It's the same for me. Sliders test my patience as well but I do it because I cannot let it win. Stacie wrote: "Just as I suspected I have no patience for sliders (I gave up after maybe 30 seconds). However, I am apparently awesome at doublets. Who knew? Submitted doublets and the 3 that aren't 3rd for Ti..."
Me too! Just give me a book store - library or paid and it's like I'm heaven. My brother thinks I'm nuts too. (He is the only person in my family who doesn't read. I think he's a changeling.) Hubby still doesn't know the true extent of my hobby ;)~Melissa~ wrote: "@ Vi ~ I can get lost for hours in a library. I love checking out libraries in other towns around me. Leslie: Re: V for Vendetta: Nope, I haven't seen the movie. I didn't know there was a movie. Thanks for the info. I should check it out. I also have to read
. Sadly, that library didn't have.JAK's older works are comfort reads for me. I always enjoy them :)
The libraries in Singapore have a great collection. It also helped that the branch I went today (it's just 5 train stops away) is one of a bigger version spanning 4 floors. Plus I love the fact the libraries here have started introducing manga and graphic novels. Today, I saw a lady borrowing some 24 volumes of One Piece, Volume 01: Romance Dawn. (We can borrow 8 books per card)Here's a pic of the Central Lending Library, the largest in Singapore. I used to spend hours in the library when I was on break.
Good Morning Team! It's FRIDAY today! And it's pouring outside here. I can sit all day and watch the rain. It's so mesmerising. How's everyone progressing with their RaT reads? Just slightly more than 2 days to go!
P.S: Can't wait to see what's today spot is going to be!
I went to the library earlier today to pick up
but I totally forgot about that! Instead, I picked up
&
. I re-read the first for a challenge and man, early NR still does it for me. I'm not too crazy about her recent ones but the old ones, yeah. I've been wanting to get my hands on Alan Moore atleast once - I've heard raves about that. And because of the graphic novel, I want to read some more Manga (Japanese comics). I'm going to read the scanlated version of
which I've been putting off for long. Adachi's works sometimes are very similar (except for the ending when there are twists)

My thoughts exactly. And the heroine was specially trained by some guy called Raiker who trained others like her. I was sooo expecting a psychic one.
Rebecca: Way to go with the puzzles. All done and up to date.
Ooh, that hammock looks so good that I'm feeling sleepy already.Have a great day team! I'm off to bed. Have an early day tomorrow.
Well, I just finished it. Basically to sum up the book, it is a journey of a emotionally-stunted woman from childhood to womanhood (?). It was ok - I just expected more based on the reviews and pushes from friends. And that's two books in a row that I'm not over-joyed about. The next one had better be good.
Thanks, Marguerite & Leslie!Leslie - WN did not have any ounce of psychic twist. It was very very ordinary. A run-of-the mill RS. That's a major reason why I'm disappointed so much. I thought it'll be better.
I'm reading
. About 220 pages in. The heroine is a a little bit stunted emotionally and basically a loner. She gets pregnant and has the kid by herself. The parts right now are ones about her difficulty dealing with her newborn baby (a week or so old). It's WAY TOO much information for me. I'm feeling soooo uncomfortable reading that. I'm cringing at her reactions and emotions (First POV and it cannot get any more intimate) Gah!! *ducks*
And I have reached my page goal - 4506 is my count now. I knew I should have increased my goal. I miscalculated :( Hope there's no penalty for overshooting the goal
Melissa - I finished
. It was ok - like a typical RS. Nothing really new. Both the leads were ok - there is light romance but at the end of the day I couldn't tell why they decided to stay together. Both of them had issues (loads) and it really wasn't addressed satisfactorily. I'm not in a hurry to pick up the next. I think Leslie liked it better - she rated it 4 stars. I'm wavering between 2 and 3. :(
