(view spoiler)[ There were hints that something was not quite right with Anna’s parents. This part was a bit far fetched for me. How could Anna not know about any abuse? A kid knows these things whether the parents try to hide it or not.
I agree that Anna had a right to be angry at her mother.
What do you think about Murray and his wife? (hide spoiler)]

Molly
(view spoiler)[ I liked Murray a lot too! He’s a smart cookie! Yes, I thought the author gave us some good suspects like Billy and Mark. I think you still have a few more chapters before things really get crazy! (hide spoiler)]

Molly, I don’t want to spoil anything for you! But I do remember being drawn in right away into the mystery.
(view spoiler)[ I remember being suspicious of Mark too. Things happened quickly there. (hide spoiler)] You are just beginning. Can’t wait to see what you think in the next few chapters!

Thanks, first day is fine! I just needed to know what section to do before the book is returned.

I am reading this book early since I have gotten it from the library. When will the chapter breakdown be posted? Not trying to pressure you, Laura. :) But I will likely have to write DQs early.

I have read the book. But bad me, never posted anything! I enjoyed this a lot! The author did a great job at making me care about the characters. I figured out one of the twists early on so rated it only 4 stars. Good writing, though! I will look for everyone’s posts and discuss the book with you all then!

Laura what did you think of
The Secrets of Midwives? My library has that one available and was thinking of adding to my book list.
Kristie wrote: "I don't think the amount of drama in one neighborhood is realistic, but it was certainly entertaining. "LOL I hope not! I agree it was entertaining.
Kathy wrote: "I worked in an Alaskan fishing village (4 churches and 4 bars, 1 general store) as a college kid (great summertime though, not during the Great Alone) and can totally see this small town."It’s wonderful being able to relate to a book this way. I thought Hannah did a great job at making me feel like I was there in Alaska too!
Karen ⊰✿ wrote: "Oh I'll have to come back here once I start this book!"Have you read books by Hepworth before?
Laura wrote: "Geri, I think if you liked this one you should try her other ones."I will! Not having anything to compare this book to, I guess I didn’t have any expectations. If the others are even better, I have to read them!

I enjoyed the book too. I didn’t mind the BLL feel. I found BLL to be too “chit chatty”. This book was not. I debated between 3 and 4 stars. I liked it enough to rate it 4 stars. I agree with you, Laura, that it did have a Desperate Housewives feel as well as BLL.
A common theme throughout the book were secrets and children. I like how Hepworth tied this all together. The surprises were surprises for me. I will read more by the author.
I am also a quieter neighbor. I don’t want to be seen as Isabelle, the nosy neighbor! LOL I felt more sorry for Ange.
(view spoiler)[ Yes, she tricked Lucas into getting her pregnant to keep him from leaving her. But Lucas having affairs was a bigger betrayal! (hide spoiler)]
Kristie wrote: "I should be able to start this one tomorrow! I finished the Woman in the Window today and I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed that I put this one off to read that one. It was ok, but I didn't..."I had the same feeling when I finished Woman in the Window. But did not want to say anything because some did love the book.
Laura wrote: "I'm somewhere in between your last spoiler. I'm a tiny bit disappointed because it is nothing like her other books I read and has the Little Big Lies Feel to it!"What were her previous books like? I get the feeling that the author got the idea for this book when Big Little Lies came out a few years ago. It feels like BLL was the inspiration!
Laura wrote: "Are you enjoying it so far Geri? Hoping to read a bit more so I can try and catch up to you. "No rush. I startied early. Yes, I am enjoying the book. I am devouring it. All the characters are interesting.
Chapters 24-47
(view spoiler)[ I thought Isabelle was the one that lost her child. But it turns out it was Essie’s mother and Isabelle was looking for her sister who was abducted. The author did a good job at surprising me!
And Ange finds out Lucas is the father to Erin’s daughter. Ha! I figured that out right away! LOL
And Fran told her husband that Ava may not be his. So many revelations! And sexual attraction to a family member to boot! LOL That whole thing was a bit eye rolling for me. (hide spoiler)]

No problem about the book talk.
Laura - Into the Water was very different from Girl on the Train. Woman in the Window does have a Girl on the Train vibe. One reason I gave it 3 stars. I have been reading too many books like Girl on the Train that they don’t feel original anymore, like Woman in Cabin 10.
I tried to read the Anne Bishop series starting with Written in Red. Stopped with book 2. Not for me. Alpha and Omega is just so much better!
The Wife Between Us was good to me. But the book uses a twist that is becoming common too. I can name 3 other books that have the same twist. I guess I read too many mysteries and books in general that it is difficult to surprise me!
Molly wrote: "Are we still on track to start reading April 1?"I will probably start a few days early. The first week of April I’ll be busy moving. But I will check in that week to chat about the book.
Kristie wrote: "I may try to jump on if my brain doesn't melt from all the rapid reading! "LOL It does get easier with practice.

I started the book. It reminds me a lot of Big Little Lies. And that’s a good thing!
Chapters 1-23
(view spoiler)[ All the families are interesting! Isabelle is a mystery. She is searching for her missing child? Lying about working at Abigail Farris Foundation too. Essie seems to be developing feelings for Isabelle. Something will happen there, especially since Essie thinks Isabelle is gay.
Did Lucas have an affair with Erin? Is her little girl his child too?
Loved the part where Ange, I think it was, fell for Lucas after he cleaned her place. I can relate. My husband never looks sexier than when he is pushing a vacuum or loading the dishwasher! LOL
Question: What type of neighbor are you? Friendly and outgoing like Isabelle or like to keep to yourself? (hide spoiler)]

Kristie - I read The Wife Between Us. It was good. You should put yourself back on the waitlist. :) I did like Into the Water too. Much different from Girl on the Train.
