Hi Brooke! Yes, this should be a good read. I will look for Winter Garden!

Yes, their relationship is moving forward. They have made a decision to become a family. I don’t know if the next book will deal more with that or not. I am curious.
35559 Sure, go ahead! I would be interested in her answer.
35559 I read the description for book 5. Anna and Charles will be back in Montana. I like that. But Bran will be away. It does sound interesting!
35559 I finished. The ending was exciting! Briggs did a great job at writing (view spoiler) Yes, I do remember the conversation between Bran and Charles. I like that Charles has a mind of his own too. I wish a book would feature Bran more. I am curious as heck about his relationship with his wife. I want to know more about how they got together.

What did you think about the fetch thing? I have heard of changelings, but never a fetch. That was interesting!

I guess in the next book (view spoiler) I will be looking that up now.

Hi! I’m impatient and read part 1 already. This is going to be a good read. Very thought provoking!
35559 I have read the first 7 chapters so far. I so agree with you, Laura, about Chelsea and her kids at the end of chapter 1. That was a nail biting cliffhanger!!

The change scene was not easy for me either! WOW!

The mystery of how the fae might be part of this is interesting. The story once again feels realistic with the moral dilemma of what Charles did to Chelsea and the prejudice shown by Hossen and Maggie.
35559 I will start Dead Heat tomorrow!
35559 Laura wrote: "I've had book 4 for over 4 weeks! I don't know how I managed NOT to read it.

Will you all be ready to go for Burn Bright 's release on March 6?
"

I’ll be starting book 4 in a few days. I will be able to start Burn Bright whenever everyone else can. I’ve been borrowing books 1-4 from the library . But willing to purchase book 5 since I know I like the series.
35559 I haven’t read Mercy Thompson. But I will!

I actually liked that Charles and Anna were working a case outside their community. The interactions with humans were interesting, sometimes funny and sometimes not! Book 3 definitely dealt with broader societal issues. I agree with everyone that Briggs knows how to bring realistic, relatable storylines to her books.

Charles’ struggle was well done too. How could he not struggle after doing and seeing all he has for so long?!
35559 Laura wrote: "I liked the meeting between the FBI and Anna & Charles. Anna is smart! I do love an intelligent heroine or hero!

She is 100% supportive of him in his struggle."

I agree! Anna is a wonderful mate for Charles. Not sure you will remember the scene where (view spoiler)

The end of book 3 was exciting.! (view spoiler) I wonder how this will effect the upcoming books. I don’t blame the fae for their actions. They were treated like a minority and did not get justice. They say if you can’t get justice, get revenge! And I think they did.

Now I know why you are impatient to start book 4!
35559 I did start this. I am finding it interesting how Charles and Anna are working with the FBI. This is the first book where they are working outside of their community.

And Charles is struggling with his demons too. Making this a little darker of a read for me. Still love the relationship between Charles and Anna.
35559 Laura wrote: "You guys are getting closer to book 4! I 'm trying to hold off!"

I’ll be starting book 3 tomorrow!
35559 Teri-K wrote: "Just finished Hunting Ground. I'd forgotten Anna's actions in the last chapter - what a great way to show that she's not a victim! And I love that she used her brains rather than brawn."

Well said! I agree with everything you wrote.
35559 No ebook or eaudio option available. :( And Pamela is right, $27 to $30 for paperback or hardcover. Darn! The book looks interesting. I’ll try to read it later!
35559 This was a daily deal on audible and I bought it a few months ago. Definitely will join the discussion and can do day 1 DQs.

There are some romance authors I won’t read because of the instant bond or love connection. I need real reasons for people to fall in love. Those are the best romances.

I am enjoying Hunting Ground. I will finish it today. I agree Teri-K, that seeing Charles and Anna work things out as humans is interesting to read about!
