I didn't participate in previous rounds of TT but I think that having a separate thread to post books our in may have inhibited a lot of conversation within the teams. I realize it was to make things easier for the captains to check posted books but at a big cost to conversation. When you are busy or tired you will probably just quickly post your book in the thread and maybe not even check the "chat" thread. When everything is together I think there are more natural prompts to spur discussion.
