Be back with at least one more tonight.

I didn't finish it today, work was actually too busy for much reading, yay! So I will try and drag it out to finish after 8 p.m. tomorrow. It has M and R characters in it too. I'll start a Kevin O'Brien for my bedtime book instead.
I think we should go for 6 times. :D

Lemon meringue pie in oven. The problem (or bonus depending on how tired you are) with delivering baked goods is that other people tend to see whatever delicious thing you are delivering and want one of their own. :D Best thing about this, leftover lemon curd to eat on my toast for breakfast. Damn, I should have made crepes.
I tried to pick a book for SS that doesn't work for this challenge because I want to finish it today, but the best I could come up with was something that only works for S. I figure we will have lots of S books so no need to feel guilty about not dragging it out for 2 days. :)
Good day all!

Finished my baking at 2:30 a.m. Left for town at 6 a.m. 2 1/2 hours driving. Cleaning for 8 hours. Small nap when I got home. :) Read about 8 pages so far and I don't think I'll get through much more before bedtime. Tomorrow is a nice relaxing store day though, so I should get through 1-2 books at least.
Thanks so much for the countdown clock Rachel. I'm absolutely rubbish at timezones.

Evening team. I have somehow agreed to bake 3 cakes and four pies tonight and it is almost 8 p.m. already. I have to get up early tomorrow and drive my brother to town before work also, so I'd better get my ass in gear. I promise once this challenge actually starts I'll be around more.

Your quest sounds super fun but I need another challenge like I need a hole in my head. *stands firm*
I do most of my reading in actual books - not a big fan of electronic or audio. And now I am going to take my library book and go to bed. I could not sleep last night and 9 p.m. is a completely legitimate time for an adult to go to bed. :D Don't mock me.
SS - teams are chosen already. The first time I played I was a mid-game replacement though, people are always dropping out. It's a huge group.

No RPG challenge for me but SS is starting up again this week, so yay for that. It's only 1 book a week but I will be trying for ones that fit here too.

My mom has been visiting for my birthday and I'm sure she isn't excited to fly back to Illinois tomor..."Never been to Las Vegas. Planned two trips back in my 20s and both times something catastrophic happened that resulted in me cancelling my trip. Now I'm a cranky old cat lady who hates crowds and I take my vacations only to unpopular places in the off-season. ;) Also I was right, today was winterish again. I don't plant flowers until mid-June usually.

Hi Cheryl. Glad you're starting a bit of a break, hope you get a chance to relax and read. :) I read
The Red Tent quite awhile ago, but I remember loving it. I also seem to remember them advertising a movie made from the book not that long ago? I rarely watch movies and never ones from books that I like, but I know I'm the minority here. Everyone in my RL has heard my "hobbits aren't people" rant, so I will save you all from the pain. Are you guys movie people? TV people? Other interests besides reading? Snow is already melting here and the ice roads are getting unsafe. All I want to do is play outside in the giant mudpit my world has become. Too bad it's fake spring and there will be more freezing and snow before we are done. :D Time for work. Have a good Monday everyone.

I'm sorry, I can't protect you from the rabid Jamie fans. :D
I think I was 20/21 the first time I read
Outlander and I loved it too but it was the time travel and the history I particularly loved, the romance didn't really do much for me. I still like it though. I've read all the other books in the series and they are hit and miss for me, some boring, some interesting. I tend to skim the sex scenes and the war scenes as it feels like she just copy/pastes them. Kind of like Jean M. Auel's Earth's Children series. Love the travel and medicine and personal interactions, skip the sex and fighting. :)

Elizabeth Lowell makes Gabaldon look like a feminist icon.

Oh the horrors. I actually read a "romance" that I hated more this week, but it was the traditional awful romance with the asshole rapist "hero" and the pitiful, weak "heroine".
Me Before You was awful in a much more special and unique manner.

You're a reading rock star Rachel. Yay!

I just noticed that we get extra points for BotM questions. It seems like I always hate the books chosen for BotM so I'm hoping someone else will be willing to jump on that grenade. :D
Example -
Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West is one of the most boring books I have ever read in my life and by read I mean try to read and fall asleep on page 3. Repeatedly.

I'm reading a book right now
Kill All the Judges that I'm not particularly enjoying, so I can probably slow it down to end after the 22nd. In real life the cover is even a very pale seafoam-y green, though it doesn't look it at all online.
I'm also due for another
Kevin O'Brien book any day now, so that's good for a couple of Ks and Os. I'll swing by the library tomorrow and stock up.

Hello team! I'm Allison. Rachel gave me a nudge, didn't realize we had teams already. Glad to be a red rock. My birthstone is red. :D Looking forward to this challenge, although I am very bad at starting books and saving them up, I do read 5-6 books a week anyway, so that should be good enough, though rarely are they over 500 pages.
I live in NW Ontario, Canada, CST and I generally get home from work around now and go online while dinner cooks. If I'm organized I'll check in mornings before work, but I have no access to internet while I'm at work, so I'm a twice a day kind of gal. ;) I know I have at least two green cover books on my to-read list that will work for letters C and S, not sure about character names. I don't think I'll have trouble finding any other letters either.
Anyway, looking forward to getting to know you all - Michelle, Mollie, Diane and Cheryl. Rachel and I just struggled through TT together so we are old war buddies. Are we a chatty or non-chatty group, anyone know? I'll probably be fairly chatty anyway. As you can tell by my rambling. Okay, chicken smells done, be back later.

I didn't get a PM, probably because I'm at the bottom of the list and therefore on deck for your next 24 hour sending, but my discrepancy is because I read more in the winter but now that spring is coming I have more work and won't be reading a book a day anymore. My 25/month is correct or possibly a bit too high, we'll see how things go. :D

I hope we'll be teammates again Rosina, we seem to follow each other around. :D
Angel thanks for being such an awesome captain! You really kept us going.
Rachel, our reading machine. Without you I think we'd be in 20th place. :D
Joi, Ashley, Tory and Andrea it was great meeting you all and thanks for all your reading and participation. Hope to see you all around.
