I'm in, don't think it will take us too long.

Good reading everyone, I think we did a great job!
I didn't have any five star reads during the competition but I don't have a lot of five star reads in general, so that's not a surprise. One of my favourite books of the last three months was the very first book I read for the challenge
, such an interesting story and so well written. Another favourite was
and that might have been 5 stars if I had a print copy and didn't have to listen to it as an audiobook.

Finished a quick 20 point read just now. I'm pretty happy with the number of books I managed to read during the whole challenge (108) but without BR points it feels like I barely contributed. :D

WTG Ashley. I think we're all of the same mind about BRs, without Rachel on our team we wouldn't have made much of a showing there. :) I think I read about 8 in 3 months myself and honestly I don't think I would have read more than one of them on my own. Maybe two. And I didn't particularly like the ones I did read.
I'm sad the challenge is coming to an end but honestly I'm looking forward to just reading when and what I want for awhile too, no more group challenges until my yearend books are done.

Finished three books today, work was absolutely dead. D-E-D, dead. :) Don't like reading on my computer but I have a bunch of stored up freebies I'm trying to get through.
Unfortunately Andrea hasn't posted in over three weeks, Tory in 10 days. Maybe they'll be back, but probably not in the next day or two when the challenge is predicted to end. Ah well.

Added two books to the list yesterday. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to help as we seem to have lost two more team members so far this month. Ah well, just a game right? Not quite sure what I'm reading today. Rachel, have you heard of this book
The Troop? As I'm reading it, I'm thinking it sounds like your kind of book. :D

Finished two 20 point books today. The one was only a few pages short of 50 pts., grrrrrr! :) Should have another couple done by tomorrow evening. Are you going to be around to upset our points then Angel? Do we think the competition will be over with this next update? Do we have any idea how the chickadees managed to get so far past us so quickly? Enquiring minds.

Morning team. Looks like we got about a foot of snow last night so my reading is going to have to wait until the shoveling is done. It's about time though, February 7th for the first real snowfall of the season is a bit bizarre in northern Ontario. Good thing we're not ski country. :)

A pillow would probably be too much comfort but bare-assed on all those public surfaces was just asking for some kind of infection.

I just kept thinking O should have made them put down a towel for her.

Finished
Eragon as a Buddy Read for 120 pts and a little classic mystery for 20 more pts today. I don't know if I can keep up this pace all weekend, but I will definitely try.
I have a vague memory of reading
Story of O a million years ago, long before I probably should have. My only recollection is that the whole story seemed very very unsanitary. :D Sound about right Rachel?

Finished. This book sort of made me want to read the next one, which is more than I expected, so bravo 19 year old Paolini. :) I continued to dislike the main character. He's damn near useless. Useless shouldn't cut it in high fantasy. Useless should get you killed in a very messy way. When the hero makes a noble speech and it is written by someone like Tolkien or Guy Gavriel Kay (who, if you haven't read, what are you waiting for???) I can feel it and react to it and I forget I'm reading a story. Eragon's noble speech made me roll my eyes and wish that Ajihad would just kill him already. Yes it was derivative, yes it was basically fanfiction but I'd read this over 50 Shades of Crap any day of the year and that hack of an author didn't have youth as her excuse. ;)

The more I read the less I like Eragon the character but the more I enjoy Eragon the book.

I happened to read
Cop Town and then noticed it was an old BotM. Don't know if anyone wants to stop by and discuss it with me. I started answering the questions, but honestly it's not really my thing and if I'm not going to get any points from just answering them, I won't bother doing any more.

Updated my list with a book I finished in the doctor's waiting room before I caught this dread disease, :) another one I finished between naps this afternoon and two BRs that people finally talked to me about, so thats a good chunk of points. Now I've been awake for almost 4 whole hours so it is clearly time for bed again. I should finish
Eragon for another 100 pts or so tomorrow. I feel like I haven't been reading much lately at all, but I'll put my best foot forward for this last week or so, promise!

I'm almost halfway through this novel and it was clearly written by a young person greatly influenced by
J.R.R. Tolkien, however I am enjoying it more than I thought I would. My least favourite plot device on earth is "I can't tell you what is really going on because of
MYSTERIOUS REASONS
so stop asking so many questions boy!!!!" so I am really glad that Brom seems to have gotten over that fairly quickly. Also the author clearly couldn't think up those mysterious reasons either. :)

It seemed like she was disillusioned quite soon after moving to Russia, but instead of taking her son and leaving while it was possible she just became an alcoholic (or possibly just more of an alcoholic they didn't really make it clear if she was drinking in the US). Tell me the US government wouldn't have helped out a woman and a 11-12 year old boy whose husband/father had "forced" them to move to Russia. She wasn't a very strong woman and what she did try was too little too late. Of course there wouldn't have been a novel if she took him home. :) (hide spoiler)]

Sarah Addison Allen novel and honestly this kind of romance novel isn't usually my thing, but I need some fluff every now and then; but I agree that her "in-between" writing is somewhat lacking. She writes these pretty scenes but between them is filler and bland filler at that. It's why it is such a quick read.

You know what is worse than getting the flu, getting the flu while you are staying out of town.
I am finally home and feeling close to human. I haven't done much reading the last few days though. I'm taking the rest of today off to do laundry and de-germ everything so if I don't fall asleep after that, I might get
Eragon done finally.

I'm going to be out of town and without internet until Wednesday night. I'll catch up with my books when I get back.
