I finished The 19th Wife today. It was interesting - part Ann Eliza Young's story, part her parents' stories and part a contemporary murder mystery involving relatives of the original polygamists. Honestly, the only part I didn't like was switching between the three, my preference would have been to not switch back and forth so much. I started 11/22/63 after I finished so that will be tomorrow's work book. Tonight I'm going to read Dune, technically re-read but with 25 years since I last read it, the story isn't fresh. ;) I didn't realize it was over 500 pages and I need a far future book for another challenge so I dug out my university days book box and there it was.

I haven't read Michener is awhile, but I absolutely loved some of his novels (Hawaii, Texas, Alaska spring to mind) and hated some of his others. I think Mexico will be a good one.

I got flagged before we even began the challenge. :D But I haven't been contacted since we started, I think my average is close enough that I'm okay.

And I found a 6th chunky book. I am determined to up my points somehow. 220 pts is the goal. So far I'll be reading... and . After these I'm not sure.

Cheryl - I think I loved The Heart is a Lonely Hunter. I may be mixing it up with another book in my head, but I hope it's a great read.

My library doesn't have the May SciFi/Fantasy or YA BotMs. And there is no way I am suffering through Me Before You again even for you, beloved Rubies! ;) So I'll keep my fingers crossed that I get picked for The Girl on the Train for week after next.

It is absolutely ludicrous how many of the books I want to read are 490-something pages.

Hey Opals! Congratulations on a fantastic week.

I found a fifth giant book. :D And they are almost all vowel books too.

Well we definitely lost some of our lead this week which makes me want to read more books next week which I'm not allowed to do, which annoys me a bit but oh well. So I checked and I have 4 books over 500 pages, so those are going on deck for my first reads.

I'd say we just use the first solid colour book that gets finished.

I'm queen of the vowels. :)

Home, done my last two for this week and now I have to ice several dozen sugar cookies. :)

They are old fashioned mysteries. I just love them! I never guess the ending and they always entertain me."

I read tons of Agatha Christies back in the day and now I'm rereading and catching up on some I missed. I have discovered that I adore Miss Marple, am very much amused and entertained by Hercule Poirot and hate Tommy and (particularly) Tuppence Beresford with a fiery burning passion. :)

Now I have to figure out what to read next. I think I am out of I books for the time being. I have one where every single character seems to start with L, maybe I'll zip through that one.

I loved those Brother Cadfael mysteries when I read them many eons ago. I'd forgotten about them though. Hope you like it.

I've started 7 or 8 different books in the last two days, haven't managed to get more than a few pages into each one. Just can't seem to concentrate on anything for more than a few minutes. I'll get back into it tomorrow I think. :D
