Monsters - We have defeated our SEVEN and are working on 5 more!

9. Laura reading one (already started). Need book with letters of Zeus in title (yes, this is the third time we've gotten this one!) The book Zeus was not awful and is on Kindle Unlimited.
10. Need book with character described as "bull-headed" or "hard-headed" (with or without hyphens, but must be that phrase).
11. Need book 800+ pages. Laura reading book #9 or higher in series (not started).
12. Need book that takes place in the suburbs. Laura reading one with sandals on the cover (already started).
Also, there is a new mini-challenge starting on July 1! Warships, which is based on the game Battleship. Our version will look a little different. The other teams will be playing against their Supergroups, while we will play against a randomizer. Michelle and Lisa are working on wrapping their heads around this one, as I'm getting ready to list a house and move across the country. I don't have a lot of brain cells left!

Empusa aka the Karen of ancient Greece (view spoiler) has been spotted on your lands causing havoc like a one monster homeowners association from hell. Easy to defeat with the right mindset, try telling her you ARE the manager.
To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book between 100 and 125 pages (inclusive).
2.) Read a book that takes place in the suburbs.
3.) Read a book with a character who is a bully (your interpretation).
4.) Read a book with sandals on the cover (flip-flops/thongs accepted).
5.) Read a book where the MC owns a cow or dog.
We've got 2 new monsters! Again, if you know that one of your books we haven't used yet fits one of these tasks, give us a shout!Lernaean Hydra
Lernaean Hydra has entered your lands and destroying villages as it looks for a new home. If you manage to defeat this monster be prepared to answer "how are you still alive" every time you tell the story. The monster is interested in shiny things and is unconcerned about losing their head(s). Best be quick.
To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book 800 pages or longer.
2.) Read a book with MPG Adventure.
3.) Read a book with gold text on the cover.
4.) Read a book where the MC has a sister.
5.) Read a book that is #9 or higher in a series.
Shy had a book completed book with a Goodreads rating of 4.66. I am currently reading one that has a map in it, but if any of our finished books have maps, speak up!
Our reward for defeating Cerberus is:Minotaur
The Minotaur has been seen on your lands, frolicking through fields and enjoying freedom for the first time. If you manage to defeat him, you will spend the rest of your life wondering how you survived. Don't forget some rope!

Ugh! My maze book has a witch. Which works for the sorceress task. We have until the end of Tower to do the maze, so I guess I’ll switch it to the monster task.
We have a new Monster!Erymanthian Boar
Erymanthian Boar has been seen on your lands, roaming the mountain tops. Very hard to defeat, recommend bundling up and using the mountain top weather to your advantage.
To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book between 500 and 650 pages (inclusive).
3.) Read a book with snow on the cover.
4.) Read a book where a character gets drunk.
5.) Read a book with MPG Animal.
Let me see what we can cover with our banked books.
ETA: We got task #2 covered. Does anyone remember offhand if a character got drunk in a book you read that we didn't use for a task yet?

The Inclusive means that 350 and 450 work, rather than being between and meaning 351-449.
I do have an option, but, like the Maze book, I can't read it today. Or probably tomorrow.

The Hunger Games fit it, so that task is already done. The page count task is just one of the tasks for each monster, not a requirement for all books.
But I can see where you can get confused. I've been in challenges before where one or more of the requirements had to apply to all the books!

Stymphalian Birds have been seen filling your orchards and causing delays in harvesting. They are hard to defeat because of their numbers. Music can soothe the savage beasts, may want to try metal bands.
To vanquish this monster you must:
2.) Read a book that is #6 in a series.
4.) Read a book with something metal on the cover.
5.) Read a book that features a bird (bird shifter accepted)
I'm going to check our banked books to see what can be covered. Then I'll report back with what new still need.
ETA: Between Michelle's The Hunger Games, and Meghna's Love and Other Words, all we need now is a book that is #6 in series!
Chowing down or Chowed down are acceptable variations. So I have a possibility. But I might be over committed for this week’s reading. I’ll see how things go today and see if I can fit it in tomorrow.
