Edit: This book does have poe..."
Got it!

F2 - Dystopian
H4 - Middle East
G8 - MM
I4 - Witches
E4 - Space Opera
I can do both of the MM for sure and probably 1 of the ..."
I'll take both of the Space Operas. I can also do the Witches.

Thalia/Melpomene - stories (books will be thrown here if they don't fit elsewhere)
Urania - We need a #7 in series, and a #8. Otherwise we'll need to shorten our current chains so we have enough space to do a third, short chain.
Polyphemia - We need one more square. We could use Omegas Don't Cry and Trick Play as 2 sides, in which case we need a book that starts with O and a book that ends with T. The starts with O would need to end with the first letter of the ends with T book. Confusing, and scrambles my brain trying to put them together!
Erato - We need 6 more pairs of books. Paired by cover items, same series, titles, etc.
Calliope - We need 11 more books read by another team member during the challenge. Books must have been finished before the current mini started (7/15). I have 3 more options, but I'm not sure if I'll get my library holds in time. (Books finished prior to the start of the current mini have been hidden on the planning spreadsheet, but can be found on the official spreadsheet.)
Clio - We need 15 more books that have been on your TBR for at least 1 year. Re-reads don't work for this one.
Euterpe - We need 8 books with an instrument on the cover/in the text and 8 books with song lyrics or poems quoted in the book.
Terpsichore - We need 12 books with a ball outfit on the cover, 11 books with food/drink items in the text, and 5 books with a setting for our ball on the cover.

For now, focus on books without a mini code assigned. If we need to do a last minute switch, we can see about that near the end.

We'll know what books are easily available for the stories closer to the end. We need one comedy and one tragedy.

You can add as many words as you want! If you want to try, to just let me know which titles you want. Anything that has a B in the mini code has already been used for Warships, but anything else is fair game (but try not to touch the books for the squares, because those are difficult to put together!).

I'll be a little bit longer. A bunch of books were posted overnight, so it's taking longer than expected. (That's a good thing, though!)

Give me about 10 minutes and I'll have a post showing where we're at. Anything you read that doesn't have another place can go for the food/setting for our ball, or toward our story, so no books will be wasted!
(Any chance you are any good with making stories out of book titles? Michelle & I both have stated that that's our least favorite of the Uno tasks we get!)

Oh, or Travel, Classic, Drama, or audiobook!

Is anyone else planning to read a Middle East book this week, or should I go back to Egypt with Peabody and Emerson?"
Go for it! I'm looking for my Space Opera right now. :)
I've got some Peabody coming up, but I'm reading it for the mini, and it's not Middle East on the first page.

Let me know if you just can't read it. Space Opera is one of my favs!

For the Calliope tasks for the new mini - Books must have been read by the other team member before this mini starts. I'm checking right now if we can do series substitutions!

Sirens

The Sirens have been spotted on your shores endangering ships heading for the harbor. Easy enough to defeat if you know how, don't recommend calling them one hit wonders though.
To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book between 100 and 175 pages (inclusive). note the higher page count
2.) Read a book that takes place on a boat or ship.
3.) Read a book with a character who is deaf (any degree acceptable)
4.) Read a book with a rope on the cover.
5.) Read a book with "Mermaid" in the text.

Drop Bear

The Drop Bear has been rumored to inhabit your wooded lands. They may look cute and cuddly but beware they are very hard to defeat and come out of nowhere. Just remember, all wildlife from Australia is apparently out to kill you, no matter how cute.
To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book between 500 and 650 pages (inclusive).
2.) Read a book set in Australia.
3.) Read a book with a surprise twist (your interpretation).
4.) Read a book with a carnivore on the cover (make sure it's not an omnivore!).
5.) Read a book with author initials found in VEGEMiTE.
