Beartown (read book 1 only) already started pushing the limits for me, but this one pushed me so much further.

I understand that the world's an ugly place, everyone is nasty, a lecher, a paedophile, an abuser, a rapist, a killer, etc, but FB uses a cudgel now on all pages and hits you on the head with it in case you didn't get it on all previous ones.

In Ove & Brit-Marie he was more subtle about these issues, as far as I remember (need to reread them).

Finished already. :( I think this was the last FB book for me, this almost pushed me over the edge into hating his writing. :(
