35559 I have a book with fire in title, but first I want to finish my 2 current chunky reads before committing to the next one.

Work is crazy this week and the peaking the next, so I'm much slower than anticipated.

35559 😅 thanks

35559 Please drop it in as I still need a few days to finish. :)

35559 The other Hesse book I had read was Steppenwolf and I liked that one too, but definitely prefer N & G to it. :))

I loved this book when I read it many ...... many years ago for the university studies and then again when I re-listened to it a few years ago. ☺️

35559 I hope you'll enjoy the books as much as the first time or more, Keli! 😊

35559 True, but I've bought books 7-10 on a previous audible sale for sth like 2-3 usd each and I'm unwilling to buy the ebooks for so much more when I have such an ambiguous relationship with the series. 😅

35559 I'm listening to my 600+ pager, and can only start on disabled author (MC) at the end of next week only.

Just in case you come across sth that may work. :)

35559 I'm totally OK with -ing. 😊

35559 #43 Magic Shifts (Kate Daniels, #8) by Ilona Andrews

2,5-3 stars

This has been the weakest book of the series for me after book 1. After the epicness of Magic Breaks, it was trying way too hard to live up to that and fell flat for me.

I'm not a fan of the narrator in general, but for this instalment and at 1,95x! speed she still sounded like she was paid by how long she could drag out pronouncing individual syllables.

35559 Ugh, sounds like a person thriving on toxicity, the absolute worst.

Fingers crossed you manage to get rid of her quickly. 🤞❤️

35559 OMG, so sorry about this mess, Sophie. 😪

Sounds horrible.

35559 Let's see if I can persuade Domi to read the Kipling short stories/ a short story to cover MPG Animal. ;)

35559 Domi will finish his Wimpy Kid book soon, but I can only start on the 500+ pager tomorrow or the day after, so I'm the weakest link. ;)

35559 Between Sammy, Domi and me, Jack the Ripper will be sewn up. ;)

Erymanthian Boar comes later. :)

35559 I'll take one of those and in case noone has claimed the other when I'm finished, I can claim the other as well. ☺️
