Finally I'm starting to get why people like this series. The first two I struggled with and would have given up on the series if the reviews weren't so good. This one I actually enjoyed though. Charley wasn't nearly so annoying as I found her previously. Hopefully the series will continue to get even better.

I'm so glad I found this author. I've now read two books by her and love these slow-burn romances. My favourite type of romance is friends to lovers, where you see the actual friendship between the characters, rather than the author just telling you the two have been friends for awhile.
The funny thing is, even though I had heard of this author around goodreads, the reason I picked up the first book I read, The Wall of Winnipeg and Me was because I was so startled to see the name of the city where I live and most people have never heard of, in the title of a book. I enjoyed that one so much that I added all her books to my TBR that exist in the same universe. Which means I still have two more: Under Locke and Kulti to look forward to.
Whoops, forgot to post that I finished:

I'm glad I found a summary of the first book online since I didn't remember a lot of what had happened in that one. This one was good, but I'm hoping the last book in the series really has some wrap-up of everything that's been building. Middle books in trilogies tend to build up but not have much of a satisfying 2nd book I find.

Love this series. I've read the first 3 in less than 2 months, so I need to space out the last 2 so I won't catch up too fast. At this point, I'm just hoping to make it a month.

Lorraine Heath's books are pretty much a guaranteed hit for me. She just writes the kinds of books I like.

There were some definite laugh out loud moments in this one, and I always enjoy this author's work but I remember the one on Americans to be much funnier to me, probably because I'm so much more familiar with the US than with England.
I put A Gentleman in Moscow on hold at the library and there are 4 copies with 8 people ahead of me, so I'm hopeful I'll get it soon. Mentioning it here because it seems posting in this thread gives people good library hold mojo.

Don't know what to say about this book other than that I was pretty bored reading it. I like an occasional contemporary romance (although I prefer historical romance in general) but sometimes I find the conflict and resolution to be too lackluster and that was the case in this one. I didn't care about the characters problems and I wasn't rooting for them to be together. I won't be continuing with the series. I just realized though, that I have another one of this author's books on my TBR so I'm hoping that one might be better.

Love that book!
I will be traveling from tomorrow evening until Friday morning, so I will be reading but not checking in much or posting my books here until I get back.

I don't really like to read creepy books because I'm such a wimp. So even though in the reviews I read a lot of people saw the twist coming, I sure didn't. I also had to angle my dining room chair where I'm sitting right now so that my back isn't facing the door.
Kate I wasnt a huge fan of the first one either but I'm hoping to get to the second one soon before I forget everything about the first one.
Ooh yes Suzanne! He narrates the Red Rising books right? I listened to the first two on audio. He's got a great voice.
That one is on my up-next shelf and now with all the excitement of the third one coming out I'm excited to pick it up soon.
The first book I'm going to read will be The Never List since I need to finish that one by Saturday. After that I'm not sure but since I have 37 books on my "up-next" shelf I'm sure I can find something.
I'll be working on getting the two I have in progress for other challenges done so I can start fresh.
