I'm super proud of our team. I know being on an involved and intense super-long team challenge like this one can be a real challenge, especially when life gets in the way. We lost several players, but still managed to stick together and work to make miracles happen. I still can't believe how many title relays we made happen!I hope to see all of you around goodreads still in my update feed on on various group threads. I'll be on the lookout for some familiar faces in the next team challenge here, whatever that may be.
Special shout-outs to my fellow captain/co-captains Vicky, Becky and Shannon who helped to make figuring out the spreadsheet fun. I learned a bunch of new tricks and am glad we shared the "burden" of getting everything that needed to be done taken care of.
I'll miss "hanging out" with you all every day... *wipes tear*
The Genre Minx wrote: "How did we do overall? :D"We finished in 5th place!!!
Here is a link to the spreadsheets with all the team standing. It's interesting to see, because they break down the points each team got with each of the games. So some teams may have done better than us in wheelathon, but we beat them in emerge, or vice versa.
Ok submitted everything I could and its time for me to head to bed. If anyone finishes anything during the night be sure to post in this thread before the deadline as proof it was finished on time and we will be able to use it.See you all tomorrow :)

LOL! Ok well that's good to hear.
The Genre Minx wrote: "I have no objections, plus I am reading books for Gold....what time should I stop reading? I just finished another book. "Here's the countdown:

If there are no objections by the time I'm ready for bed, I'm gonna cash in all our books. That will be a couple of hours from now. Want to give everyone a chance to weigh in.
Ok, so our current points for Emerge the Victor are 1202.Our current XP is 1003.
Copied from the rules:
Points
◈ 30 Points per Weapon Level
◈ 45 Points per Hero Level
◈ 2 Point per Gold Remaining
◈ 5 Points per Potion Remaining
We currently have 20 books sitting in the planning sheet for Cards 2, 3 and 5 (18 books finished, 2 being worked on). If we submit them for the cards, we will get the rewards of
Card 2: 5xp, 1 gold
Card 3: 13xp, 2 health potions
Card 5: 5xp, 2 gold
So we would get a total of 23xp as well as 3 gold and 2 potions. To get points for our xp, we would need to get our hero to Level 14 by having a total of 1200xp. For the gold we would get 6 points (3goldx2) and for the potions we would get 10 points (2potionsx5) for a total of 16 more points.
If, however we turn in our books for gold and then convert that to potions, we will have 20 books each worth 1 gold (20 gold). The cheapest potion can be bought for 2 gold, meaning we could buy 10 potions. Each potion we have left at the end is worth 5 points. So we would get an additional 50 points for those same 20 books.
Does anyone have any objections if we do not submit any more cards and instead convert our books that are currently scheduled on the RPG planning tab into gold and potions?
Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ wrote: "WOOHOOO!!!! Yay Bonita! So....when my book is done....we're done with cards? Or will we get any more...like..."little" ones? *sniffle*
PS - EARTHQUAKE!!!!! It's so weird living in Oklahoma these..."
Is there an earthquake where you are? Wow, hope everything is ok! We don't have those here so I can't even imagine what it would be like.
The Genre Minx wrote: "Ok, well then I am going to read some short books. I know the longer the book more gold but some gold is better than no gold."Sweet! I would say short books are better, since you could read 4 100-page books which would give 1 gold each (4 gold) or one 400-page book which would give 2 gold.
The Genre Minx wrote: "If I read a book will it count for gold?"Yep, we can turn it in for gold and then turn the gold in for potions.
I'm just turning in our remaining gold for potions now, and then I'll post the calculations of where we will stand if we submit the cards vs exchange the books for gold. Then we can make a final decision.
The Genre Minx wrote: "Did I just seriously read my last Wobble book?? Dang, I am a bit misty over here....."I know... it feels like the end of... something. I'm feeling a bit sad myself.
We all definitely have to get together in the next group challenge.
Sooooo battling that Great Novel Dragon monster bumped us up to Level 14 hero. (1003xp)We won't make it to Level 15 (1200xp) so instead of submitting any more cards, we may just want to trade in any more books finished for gold. We get one gold for books 400 pages or less, and 2 gold for any books over 400 pages. For each gold we have left at the end of the game, we get 2 points. We can buy cheap potions (one potion for 2 gold) with any remaining gold and each potion we have left over at the end of the game we get 5 points for.
I know it doesn't seem very much in the spirit of the game to stop reading for cards and just cash in all our books, but it is what is best points-wise. We won't get any more points for finishing any more cards, although if you guys just want to do it for fun, we could do that.
Post here if you have an opinion and we'll go with the majority.
We've also got the suffix/prefix card. We may be able to move over a book that's already read if someone can match it.We do have two books already that start with "un-". Just not sure if we want to use our "u" book.
Shannon wrote: "Does this one look gold enough?
"I would say yes. I was going to use Becky's book
but if you want to read that one, we can use it instead.
