35559 Finished through chapter 18

(view spoiler)

Persephone is my favorite! She's strong and wise and doesn't back down. Good job on writing a strong female, Sullivan!! Props to you.

35559 Christina I wrote DQs last year. They're really fun, just research a few ideas. Depending on what day you get and what part of the book you read, your questions will vary.

35559 Ok Emily, I think you knew this already but I'm signing up for seeker or beater for Quidditch. Let me know what they decide and when to start checking the Eagle's Nest.

Thanks!

35559 I'm reading Age of Myth (The Legends of the First Empire, #1) by Michael J. Sullivan
which has a huge tree on the cover. Not sure what all it works for yet.

Em, go for the long book haha! My hero!

35559 I should be fine to read a lot; I just have to make sure I post all of my completions and stuff. I'll also have to play on the weekends. Church on sunday will be my main block that I can't read. Also sleeping... lol

Emily, can you let the organizer know that I'm in California time so I'm basically half a day behind any Europe players? Thanks!

It looks like the seeker couldn't start looking for the snitch right away? I'm trying to figure that out. I'll probably just PM Carmen for her strategy if I get named seeker.

35559 Yaaasss!!!! How fast do I need to read? And I need a very short easy explanation of the rules again haha. I'll snoop for some rules.

ok rules look good. I think I'd like to be seeker or beater. but I'll settle for just playing, haha.
35559 I also just finished ch 1-8.

Ship idea (view spoiler)

I also don't have any expectations, but in the author's note, Sullivan noted that he writes his whole series before publishing even the 1st book. This way he can wrap up all the of the storylines and make sure you can tie a bow on it when it's all said and done. And he said he's not rushed to complete deadlines this way either, because they're all written. I thought that was really interesting, and it helps me because even though I may not know where the story is going, I can trust the author to have a plan (even though who know if I'll like the plan or plot, haha).

35559 Welcome Megan!

Hi ladies!

Man, a reading slump hit me hard last week. I barely touched 1 book! But I finally finished it: Death on the Nile (Hercule Poirot, #17) by Agatha Christie It was really great! I'll upload it today.
35559 I'm in for this one!

35559 Paula that looks amazing!

I played ultimate frisbee this weekend and had a picnic with some friends from church. Did not read anything, haha.
I'm working on Death on the Nile (Hercule Poirot #17) by Agatha Christie and then i'll do Not That I Could Tell by Jessica Strawser for a BR.

Melissa - I absolutely loved As Bright as Heaven by Susan Meissner . Let me know your thoughts!

We're doing great team!

35559 I'm going to have to go back and look through quidditch rules to see how to play.
May 30, 2018 09:59AM

35559 I haven't read any of those but I've listened to Lauren Graham and Ellen DeGeneres narrate their books and they're really good.

I want to listen to Judy Greer's book. I Don't Know What You Know Me From Confessions of a Co-Star by Judy Greer

35559 Hey that's fine! Just offering since I've been reading quickly. Sorry I responded late!!

Also Alison can you invite me into the ravenclaw common room? Thanks!
May 29, 2018 09:07AM

35559 Haha I also never look at spreadsheets. I'm so behind on posting my books read. I'll do more of that today.

I'm like crossing my fingers there's a spot on quidditch for me haha! Or I can go in and "sub" for Apoorv"
May 29, 2018 09:03AM

35559 Sorry I'm late to volunteer for Quidditch but I can play. I read 2-3 books a week. Sorry I was AWOL! I don't check GR much when I'm not at work. Do you still need someone?
May 25, 2018 01:18PM

35559 I'm not sure I understand the quidditch rules otherwise I can play. I've been reading 2-3 books a week the past few weeks and I can probably keep it up.
May 24, 2018 09:09AM

35559 ya'll are so active on this thread while I'm sleeping!

I'm still confused on the transfiguration class, but I'll go back to the spreadsheet.

I'm reading Savannah Blues by Mary Kay Andrews for another challenge, so i don't know if the truck can be transfigured or not, but if not, the color is all yellow (think coldplay, hahaha). and it's long, like over 500 pages. hopefully i can finish it in the next two weeks.
35559 I'm in for this!
