I'll join that one!

ok! it's on my TBR list now!

MH, I totally agree with you about Noah's ex. Very believable and well written.
Regarding Charlie,
(view spoiler)[ I didn't read the first book so I don't have anything to compare her to but I can see how she would be a little annoying. I think the fight she had with Noah towards the end was very believable and it really got me invested. I was invested in her and I wanted to see her live, see what would happen to Micky and Yulissa and her baby. (hide spoiler)](view spoiler)[ The babies being stolen - I did NOT see that coming! I honestly thought something was wrong with the environment in Tirabichi and I didn't put together the 3 bigwigs running a "smooth" operation. I also think how Charlie used the corruption that she couldn't stop or change to help out one kid was very interesting. It was kind of an eye opener for me. I know there's corruption in the world and it's not like this one pregnant woman can change everything at once and come in and save the day and eradicate it. But she did use it to her advantage for one kid. (hide spoiler)] Did ya'll have thoughts on that?
Overall, I really liked it. I loved the writing style, lyrical and with imagery, but also some intrigue. I was very impressed with Hester Young. Part of me wants to go back and read the first book, but I'm wondering if know a few things from the second book would spoil it for me.

Oh! I read
this should work for a charm!!! I'll post it in books read thread soon if i haven't already.

I also just finished
so if anyone has someone or something on a road, similar to
that might work for a charm

so for summoning I read
which has a dock and water but no boat. would it work with stillhouse lake like you're summoning the boat back to shore?

I'll probably finish this today. I didn't read as much during the weekend, but I'm finished through chapter 18. Just found out that
(view spoiler)[ the vision Charlie wasn't having was Lety getting killed and not herself (hide spoiler)] I heaved a big sigh of relief!
Will keep reading! I didn't read the first one yet so I don't know what to compare it to. I've lived in Mexico so the vivid descriptions of their time in Nogales is very very relatable to me.

(view spoiler)[ What are your thoughts on Charlie's vision of the house with Micky and Noah not including her or the baby in it? Do you think it means anything or is that just for dramatic effect and she is just seeing one part of the future? (hide spoiler)]Which of the characters do you relate to?
I think the way she describes Oscar the realtor is so realistic! I've met a realtor like that in Arizona that helped my parents buy a house.
At the beginning of the book I was distrustful of Theresa but I'm less so now. Which is exactly how Charlie felt, and I think it's REALLY cool that Hester Young can take you on the same journey discovering her characters that her characters go through.

I agree the trials were very good.
I have a question I want to discuss with you guys WHEN YOU FINISH THE BOOK! DO NOT READ the SPOILER until you're DONE!
(view spoiler)[ Jupiter knows something about Morrigan that he keeps a secret for basically the whole book. There's a stigma against her talent or knack, so Jupiter asks her to trust him with her talent, keeping the knowledge hidden from her the whole time. What do you think of this? Do you agree that Jupiter should keep it hidden or do you think him telling her earlier would have somehow been better? Do you think if she had known, would she resent herself more than she already does? (hide spoiler)]

*raises hand* aye!!

Wow. Great ideas Melissa and Apoorv! Looks fantastic!

Just finished it. Read it all in one day! I couldn't put it down. It was really good. It was like I could see it all happening and was very immersed in it.

I heard the Los Angeles online library is HUGE. You have to go in person and make an account at a branch but if you can get out there it's worth it. My grandpa told me.

I'm doing 2 BRs and a BOM currently. I'm might be able to do another BR but it takes me longer to finish books than I would like because Real Life gets in the way... hahaha

haha Apoorv how many libraries are you registered at?

I'm reading
as a buddy read and it's awesome and hilarious! Anyone of you should join while it's still going on!

In chapter 3!
Current favorite quote:
(view spoiler)[ "Does anyone care that I'm with child ?!?!" "Does anyone care that I'm about to die?!?!?! Can we please talk about me for a minute?!?!" (hide spoiler)]Also favorite quote: "Meanwhile, fear had set up camp in her stomach and was having a festival."
I'm loving the writing of this story! It does feel like a fun cross between Alice in Wonderland and Harry Potter, but in it's own new and refreshing way. Like it deserves to be a story.

oh good so there's no rush.
I have to take a look at the classes. And back track in the books read thread to see if any of them fit anywhere. I've completed 3 more books that I can post. I'll finish
today or tomorrow and I'll finish
after that.

Joining in! Team Gilderoy Lockhart. This looks good!
