Are we not submitting the extras because our captains are away from the computers or because it's too late once we try and fail to submit? I just am curious about our status.

Sheila, you have a banked book in for KNIFE. Don't sell yourself short!

Yes, and if we submit as tree we get the option to reject a card if it's horrible. This one was good -- I think we only had to read 4 or so books for it. The words in title usually have to be read on demand, but the banked books are good at filling in the pictures and more generic spots.

Also, there's only one shark per card (I think) and we already found it. Now we're just looking for more power squares!

Can we not submit more on this pattern? I thought since our submission broke we could put in more squares. I say put in all the 300+ books that we've got.

From the Bingo Rules:
• To complete a card a specific bingo pattern must be chosen and covered. Additional squares may be completed outside the pattern.

I'm not so much worried about getting the last submission in as in finishing that last submission with less time to pick the books, though. That's what the problems now mean.
Before I was waffling about whether to put in the extras, but now I'm thinking Moonlight has the right idea.

Because if it's going to take an extra DAY to turn in each pattern that will definitely cut down on our ability to do rapid turnovers. So I think we should turn in everything we can.
(edit to fix typos)

Will it let you put the other 300 PAGE books in?

That is the same problem we had last time. This makes me think we should throw in all the extras, because we won't have as much time with the next pattern.

TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN by Sallie for the tree spot. It's perfect!

What would work for oranges anyway? A book about fruit? About soccer games (everyone eats orange slices at soccer games)? A book about Holland (orange is the royal color)? A book that doesn't rhyme with anything?

If we're going to throw all the extra books on this card, shall we put in to raise all the 2X squares to 3X? (the Love Letter bonus). If we are doing that, we should try to fill out as much as possible, even with short books.
I'll put my In the Black back on, then, and maybe people could look over the square to see if they have anything that would fit in the non-pattern boxes.

I finished my "Now" book. I had to take a break in the middle because I took my kids out to eat and we were all reading at the restaurant but it got really sad so I switched to a book that didn't make me teary. Things did get better, though, and it was a 4-star book.
Whew!
Hey, do we want to put the extra 300+ books on the spreadsheet or save them as we try to do at least one more pattern? We've still got four days, right? Right now we have 4 extra 300+books, five if Ashley finished Ink & Bone. I took off my 200 pager and I figure we'll bank Sheilas. It's a risk assessment -- do we get the points now or do we save them for the richer patterns, but if we get unlucky they'll just be wasted.

I'm working on my book. All I knew about it was that it was about baseball, and the main character's older brother just DIED. I did not know I was signing up for a cry-fest. I'm not good with the death of children.

Did they fight right on the beach? Then I'd count it! Fighting=dragons and sea=sea.

If we want to go for Pyramid (bonus -- use Travel Agent Book) we need:
-- Skull and Crossbones
-- BOM club book: (Ashley is reading Ink and Bone, a March pick)
-- Title "Long":
-- Title "Now: (Beth is reading one next)
-- Genre Biography: ???
-- Markhors: goat? Books set around Pakistan/Afghanistan? book Team Markhors read?

Ashley, Ink and Bone was a previous BOM club, which will come in handy if we want to go for Pyramid instead of Tree.
