35559 Thank you for taking one for the Tapirs!

35559 Moonlight, was that the one by Baldacci? I liked it; I read it as part of a 50 State book and it's set in West Virginia. I think I had such low expectations when I went in (I don't tend to read books like that) that I was pleased to have actual characters and a plot!

I remember also using it as "Book by someone of a different gender" in the "Read Harder" challenge, because it seemed like a real man's (TM) book.

35559 Does anyone have a big (500+) page banked book that's not on the board yet? Because we could save you for the SHARK. We submit the BLACKOUT, the SHARK eats a book, and we put down our FREE CARD and your giant book and shout BINGO! and if we are lucky there is a X3 value under the shark like we've had the past few cards.

(I'm plotting before diving into my next book)

35559 Hey, I found a book Songs of the Gorilla Nation: My Journey Through Autism and the back says the woman eventually works with gorillas, so I'm hoping that she does that in the wild in a tent (instead of in a zoo, which would be bad).

That would work for either biography OR tent, if I'm lucky :-)

35559 I moved you in so if I start reading while mobile I remember what I'm supposed to do :-)

Karen Memory by Elizabeth Bear
Finished 9/7/16
Hardback: 350 pages
Rating 4 stars.

I put it in as rainy. Although I just noticed the authors name is BEAR. Hmm.

35559 I just finished Karen Memory, so I can pick my next book as soon I as run a few errands. I'm thinking I should read a biography because I don't see anyone else grabbing that? Tent and Pictures in Book should be OK -- I'm hoping Sheila has something for TENT.

35559 Wait, if we put Moonlight book in Connect 4, we don't have to move Paula and Plethora. I didn't refresh to see her post.

35559 Paula's yellow book also works for Connect 4 -- it's strategic and chess-game, so strategy game. Then Plethora can have the yellow cover.

Plethora, what is your picture book?

35559 Also only one short of Field Goal. But I'm still looking for BLACKOUT!

I'm minutes from finishing a RAIN book, so maybe someone (Sheila?) can find a CONNECT 4 or a YELLOW COVER. Anyone got ideas for TENT, PICTURES IN BOOK, or BIOGRAPHY?

I can pick up at least one more book to finish by Thursday, plus the 2014 that I'm half way through. Maybe those guys will go on a camping trip or something (right now they are at an English house party in the 1920's, so it seems a bit unlikely...) Anyway, I've got possibles for all those on my shelves so just let me know which I should grab.

35559 Paulos, I'm moving Sheila's award book to dancing bear, and you can grab that spot. Is that OK?

35559 Let's put a star next to the title if a book fits somewhere else, and list it underneath by our names with all the possibilities. That way if we replace something (and we should definitely replace blacks with finished, and possibly yellows as well) we can move it somewhere else.

35559 Depending on when we finish, we could save the Free Spot for the inevitable SHARK. If we get the blackout, we've guaranteed that we'll find it.

35559 Nancy, that's a 300+ page hardback for seventh graders. I think you are safe in assuming it's over 25K words!

You mostly see the problem in books under 150 pages for elementary school kids.

35559 Well, I used your Magic Burns twice for the lucky 7, because I thought it might work for Dancing Bear. I see Kate & Currin's relationship as fitting that image.

35559 If we don't get to black-out, I'm seeing a Field Goal possibly emerging. It's too early to really tell, though, until we see where we can cram all the banked books.

35559 Connect 4 is a strategy game -- get 4 in a row. And if you look at the picture, black just won. So games, or a surprise victory, especially one won by smarts.

Sheila, I'm holding off on picking new books to read until I see what everyone else has, because I'm pretty good at finding what is needed and reading it fast. I listed the three books I'm going to finish for sure in my box but I'm holding off on finding new books yet until the rest of the banked books show up.

I would say that banked books overrule unfinished books at this point. Ideally we'll get a black-out, which will ensure we find all our bonus points. (And the shark, darn it!)

35559 Except we ditched that card and are waiting for a new one :-)

We'll hope to get that square again, or that growing money one, which would work as for that as well.
