I've added my final book to 2022. I had grand plans to read a bunch over the 10 days i was off but I haven't read a thing. So I'm going to wait for 2023 and enjoy TV, which I rarely watch. Book #35 was Horrorstör. I much preferred this over The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires. It was a good one to end the year on.
Happy new year everyone!🎉🎊🎉

2 starsSo many people have recommended this book and I was hoping that it was good. However, it just didn't work for me."
I really enjoyed that book, but only as a sort of study in loneliness and the way Owen's wrote the setting. I felt transported and could practically hear and smell and feel that coast. And the loneliness. But the mystery was a letdown. I can't remember if it was a letdown because it wasn't a surprise or because it was out of character. However, I still recommend it for the setting.
I'm in again! I exceeded my goal of 25 last year, so I'll up it to 30 this year. One year i am going to only read old books.(view spoiler)["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Last virgin suggestion is Ashes of the Sun. Pretty decent ya fantasy. It is f/f, though there are also gay and hetero love stories/trysts. It's just the virgin in this is centred around the lesbian romance.

The Lightning-Struck Heart. I'm pretty sure that the mc is a virgin. He definitely gets instructed by the guy he loves about what will happen. This one is m/m, fantasy and funny. I adore this book.

The one about the virgin book writer, it was actually fairly funny.

I loved The Girl with All the Gifts. So much better than the movie, in case you've seen it. It's really well written.
And I Darken was also a decent read. It would've been a great read but it slows halfway through. But still I think worthy of anyone's time.
I finished book #28 And Then There Were None. It was okay. I round it up to three stars. But i am officially done with Agatha Christie. She might've been an influence for many a writer, but I think she's rubbish. I've read the big ones and that's all i need.I also attempted my #29 book A Man Called Ove had to DNF that sucker at 29 pages. I just cannot deal with grumpy old men. I did like the short sentences though. So i might try another Backman.

Added to my tbr. Still haven’t started my next Dickens.
Another four books off of my tbr, really good string of books. I also read Pollyanna, which wasn't on my tbr but wanted to mention because i adored her. The writing wasn't brilliant but Pollyanna was adorable. I'm actually glad that I read this in my 40s, because i know that in my cynical childhood and teens Pollyanna would have annoyed me.

Thanks for being a brilliant team, even if we didn’t win. I just like to take part. Hopefully see you all in other challenges.

S16 - is covered by my red island house.Sadly, my other book is Pollyanna and I don't think a team member read that. So I'll put S16 next to mine.
