now but it's slow going. I'm a little confused and not fully invested. Hopefully it gets better soon."It has good reviews. I hope it picks up for you.
I love the updates too. So thanks for those, Suzanne. This group is so awesome. 🔥 🔥🔥Tone your trip really inspires me to do something similar. I did go to Oxford a few years back to see the Bodelian after reading A Discovery of Witches. There wasn't a tour relating to the book, but there was a library tour. It was pretty amazing. My husband loved it cos of Morse/Lewis/Endeavour. He got to walk the streets of the shows. I plan to go to Whitby for some Dracula-ness soon. I think there are guided tours for that. Hopefully, they'll be as book centric as Tone's because it sounded so fab.
Good luck with end of year and the move, Jen. I hope it goes smoothly.

Elinor wrote: "Excellent news re pastel colours :). Sounds like they’re not planning to add gray?x"
Maybe we can pester them to do a gray wheel, like when they did brown. Because I, too, have lots gray covers. Gray and black.
Suzanne wrote: "@Keli and everyone: We can officially use the pastels (like the pink color above) as "bright" - applies to green, purple, etc. too"Well that will make things easier. Thanks for checking. ☺️
Suzanne wrote: "Keli I'm pretty sure we can use it for pink but I'm going to verify in the captains group. We have the same issue with purple. I'll let you know soon!"Thank you, Suzanne.
Are our pink options only bright or dark? Cos I'm reading
, which is a very pink cover, but neither dark nor bright.
@ Elinor - I'm not a captain but I think if you just put the colour of the cover in reason, the captains can probably create a tower with the various colours.
As we're halfway through the month, thought I'd give a little heads ups about my reading and maybe get some opinions. I will get All Together Dead finished by this weekend and be halfway through Kushiels Dart, which i will have done by month's end. I can either read Black Night and A Closed nad Common, which are about 550 - 600 pages combined, or one 500 - 599 book, which we still need. Sadly, I am not awesome enough to read all three and finish Kushiel. I do plan on getting another 400 - 499 audio in, though. However, that will be my May, most likely. I can finish my mod tower books in June, right?

The last Atwood on my TBR! Weirdly enough I mostly enjoyed this one, though I was never really keen on picking it back up again. This could've been a 4, but th..."
Alias Grace was what got me interested in Margaret Atwood. I loved the tone and evocation in it. I haven't read Handmaid's Tale yet, and may never. It just makes me angry thinking about it. Most of the others I've read are three stars, except the Madadam series. Though I have to finish the last book. But the first two, particularly Oryx and Crake, are excellent.

I loved this 2nd book of The Others series almost as well as the first one. I am very late to ..."
This is a fantastic series, which, I think, gets better and better each book. It's a wonderful building of a relationship between Meg and Simon, and humans (some) and others. I do hope you enjoy the rest of the series.
The book I'm currently listening to is about slaves from Martinique sent to Grenada to steal other slaves. It does require stealth from the two main characters. One is very stealthy. Would that work for Lord Vetinari?
I was in two minds about Evelyn Hugo, but I still gave it four stars. Here's my review-I liked this but I didn't love it. It was too obvious and Monique was grating. Evelyn was charming in that old Hollywood glamour game kind of way. However, the real strength of the novel is Reid's ability to weave a story that feels so true. I read this continually thinking about who this could be based on. Of course though, it's not based on any one person but an amalgamation of the legends of the ladies and gents of old Hollywood. Reid has a real talent for evoking the period she is writing about. She did it superbly in Daisy Jones and the Six. And she did it well here, too. However, this fails to provide as much joy, tension, or excitement.
My big problem was Monique, she was very annoying and frustrating. I thought some of the decisions she made were not in keeping with a woman of her character or, at least,
her character's intelligence and experience level. It seemed much more to be something that helped the plot.
The other letdown was the end "twist." It was obvious and anticlimactic.
Aside from that it was thoroughly enjoyable, hence the four stars.
How did I miss the post about Cris getting a new puppy? I love dogs. My little guy, a Jack Russell named Womble, has made such a massive difference to my mental and emotional wellbeing. He is the best. I just wish we could have seen him as a puppy. He was 2 and a half - 3 when we got him from a resuce centre. Also Tone, have a wonderful time in Scotland. I love that you are going on an Outlander tour. One of my fantasy ideas is to jack it all in and start a tour company based novels.
