I saw that! Congrats :) It seems Wales is polyvalent. Now waiting to find out the opponent

I live in Belgium, Europe which is convenient because I love chocolate and comics. I live in a small town surrounded by forest.
It's very cloudy/rainy in my country and our summers usually involve a heatwave that lasts about a week or two taking place somewhere between April-October. So far we are still waiting for it :p (it's currently 18°C = 64 F).

That's good for me. I will finish my book by tomorrow, it's so good!

We're doing great with all the hits! I will check the new tasks and peruse my priority shelf to see what I have.

Lol, not at all :) I must admit I was lost as well but it's not in my nature to ask of it seems that everyone but me understood it :p

Thank you Michelle for the explanation. So we have to read 20 books as a team (each team member has to read at least one book for one of the primary tasks) and once all the primary tasks are covered and read we can start working on bonus points. Makes sense now :)

35559 @ Greta: I read about 1-2 books a week (depending on work schedule)

@Michelle: If needed my book Heir to Sevenwaters covers the task 'read a book shelved as historical'.

I can view the spreadsheet but I agree with Sally, to post it at the beginning for easy access.

I enjoy her books so much, Lisa! I discovered J. Marillier's books this year and I'm hooked ever since. Her writing about Ireland and its celtic lore is beautiful and her stories & characters are captiving, it's been a while since I felt so invested in a series. I'm currently doing a challenge where I'm trying to read everything by J. Marillier :) Still a have a lot to read:

35559 Finally caught up with the thread!

A lot of strength to you and your mother Stacie.

I'm going to start Heir to Sevenwaters by Juliet Marillier by Juliet Marillier (398 pages paperback version). It works for the following tasks:
- A1 - 4th book in a series (hit)
- F6 - Shelved as YA by at least 10 people (hit)
- I9 - book with a title between 16 and 25 characters (miss) --> has 17 characters

I have all day to read tomorrow, so great to finally start the challenge :)

35559 I have a couple of books I've planned, but it mainly depends on what we are looking for, if it depends on pages read or books read. For Wheelathon I would go for short books for example to complete the spell it outs. I also hope that bigger books will earn higher points somewhere in the challenge.

Thumbs up Lisa :) ! Nice choice with Chenonceau, definitely worth it as well. Yes, built on request by great (& demanding) ladies ;) They could really build impressive constructions back then.

35559 @ Eldarwen: Yes, me too !! I just can't stop staring at it.
When we travel to southern Europe, we stop there every time to picnic :)
And Luxembourg has quite some lovely castles as well.

❀Tea❀ wrote: "Oh, I have that castle as jigsaw! I don't think I ever finished it. :( it just takes too much space :P."

Yes, the castle is too big ;) Maybe you should have started with a puzzle from a hut or apartment, and then gradually increase the difficulty level to a castle :p

35559 I would definitely go back to Ireland (especially Galway) or the Loire Valley in France, those are the places I feel more at home and the scenery is beautiful. I fell in love with Chambord aka my second residence, it's my summer residence you see :p
Now it's heavily damaged by the flooding though. I heard a lot of countries are dealing with it.

I definitely recommend Vienna and Rome as well. Go Michelle! You won't be disappointed. Italy is really worth it.

They do, Louise! I remember them beating Belgium not long ago, they definitely have the right to be there.

I'm off watching Germany play

Yes, Croatia won! I saw some checkered red/white flags here too. Tea, I'm pretty much like your brother, I'm also usually yelling at the players, giving them instructions from the couch :) and ousted people out of the room because I couldn't hear the commentator. Because of that my sister started to watch football with me for comic relief. Now she's worse than I.
But I must admit cute players was a really good incentive for me starting to like football ;) Btw you're never wrong rooting for Belgium, always welcome to do so :p

I'm completely lost with handball though. I played it a lot during high school because our sports teacher was obsessed with it. It's nice to have someone near you to talk about it.

Every bigger square has big tv screen, all bars have tvs outside... You can't not watch it. Or know what's going on since you can hear yelling all the time.
We are definitely football obsessed nation. And in few hours it's our first game...
Go Croatia! :)

I can imagine :) Yes, it's the same here! Every square and bar is broadcasting football. Flags & decorations everywhere, our offices, and people's cars are decorated as well. And marketing departments are having a field trip.

I enjoyed watching Croatia play before mainly because of the brothers Kovac, I'm not that familiar with the current composition of the team. I will definitely be cheering at 3pm ;)

❀Tea❀ wrote: "And why are you rooting for Wales?! "

Spreading the joy for those who are connected to Wales :) Of course I'm rooting for Belgium! But when you're rooting for Belgium, you're in for a lot of suprises (not always in a good way), they're so unpredictable. That's why I need a back up team, normally I would go for the Netherlands, unfortunately they didn't qualify.

35559 I've never been to U.S. nor Australia, it's nice to hear you all talk about your countries here. I can travel a bit via this way.

Btw it's football season in Europe and Wales won its match yesterday. I'm so excited for this year's competition! Sorry, I'm a football fan.

35559 Welcome Morgan! :-)
I've read and enjoyed the Parasol Protectorate, I thought it original (except for the last one, I remember flipping a bit with that book). I'm tempted to try Steam and Sorcery.
