I've not been able to read at all this weekend because of work. I'm not sure if mentioned it, but I work in a supermarket restocking shelves which sounds easy enough but when you are understaffed it's hard to put all the stock out so you end up trying to play catch up all the time. And it's only going to get worse as Christmas approaches. Hopefully they will hire more people by then.
So while I can listen to audio books while I work, most of the time I find myself stressing about how much I have to do and then not paying attention to the book.
I'm down to 4 nights now so I will have more time on my days off to catch up on reading.

On the upside, this is the last week I will be working 5 nights. From next week I will go down to 4 (I'm contracted 3, but because of short staffing they wanted me to do 5). Hopefully I will feel like I actually have days off now and can do more in my free time, which with luck will include reading.

I've started two O books. One is heavier going and my mood is pretty low right now so I switched to the other one.
I have a green book I can read but I'm not sure how helpful it will be for our letters. It's there as a backup if needed, but for now I am going to focus on those O's

We read 81 books in Round 1 which is 10 more than predicted! Well done team!
As I am writing this, we are in 8th place but teams may still be finialising their sheets. It is early days, everything can change in future rounds.

Ch 1 to Ch 7
1.) What are your first impressions of the family and of Louise and Mark? How pivotal do you think their relationship (or lack thereof) will play in the story.
Aside: I plan to steal and use the phrase "Terminal Assholism" in future. Thank you Hendrix!
It seems like they will constantly bicker and maybe when Louise tells him about the odd stuff happening in the house, he won't believe her. I hope they do learn to get along though.
2.) The book is organized into sections following the 5 stages of grief. Does this impact your expectations of the book at all?
Not really. I didn't even notice as I am listening to this in audiobook form.
3.) Okay. Life size dolls named after her children. Weird, creepy? Would you be excited to have them as part of your inheritance?
Weird and creepy but I can try and understand the sentiment behind it. I can't say I would be excited to inherit them.
4.) Have you ever experienced a family post-death squabble/fight like the one Louise and Mark had in front of the junk clean out guys?
I witnessed one, but not the actual squabble. My boss was the sister of my mum's boss. Their dad died and didn't leave a will, which of course complicated things. Very long story short, the squabble divided the family.
5.) Did anyone else google Fellowship of Christian Puppeteers? If so, were you surprised to find they were a real organization? Has anyone interacted with them before or a similar organization for other religious beliefs? [note: please keep responses respectful to people's beliefs, this is a safe space]
I have never heard of them before. I'm not sure I want to google it either.

Y - 1
N - 1
S - 1
R - 1
With the books on the tracking sheet, it will be possible to finish it and start one more. As a reminder we are allowed 1 unfinished spell it out.

No super hard letters, but lots of I's, O's and D's will be needed. And Green seems an easier colour than white.

I only have a little bit left of my book that works for an I so I will finish that at some point in the next 24 hours. I would really like to finish another book before the end of this round too but I will have a look at what is needed when I finally get on my laptop.

I've got days off coming up so I can try and squeeze in a short Z or Y if needed as well.

I definitely want to finish one of my books on the ss, but may not be able to finish the other in time. And I don't think I will be getting the BOM done this round, but that may be a good thing because it didn't really seem to fit in with our letters.
