New Monster - Tomas and Tereza (The Unbearable Lightness of Being)
#5 for me 
Was on my list since 2013. I remembering watching the film a few times as a kid as my mum would watch it when it was on TV. As expected, the book goes into a lot more detail but from what I remember the story is pretty much the same. A 4 star rating from me.
It is the same for me. I check whenever I start a new book or there is a new monster and they just don't seem to fit any tasks. I should read more once UNO starts though so hopefully something will fit soon.

I wanted to finish the Sherlock Holmes books last year, but didn't quite manage it. One more to go until the series is complete and I should get that done soon.I also deleted a Kindle book from my TBR.
However you want to do it, Marla. Some of us list specific books they want to read, others just list them as they read them.
Haha Laurie, sorry (not really). But I enjoyed reading it and it was not too long either. I almost gave it 5 stars. I'm still considering going back and giving it that extra star.

had only been on my TBR since last year but was an enjoyable read.
To follow the trend, I have only read 78 books on that extended 1001 books list. Some books I had on my TBR for many years before deleting them because I decided I didn't want to read them. At this point, I am not going to actively try to read any from that list as my TBR is way too long as it is. It would be something to look at if I do somehow get my TBR down to a more manageable number.
Same, LaurLa and Karen. That's why I'm partly going to focus on my Kindle books this year. I already know there are some of them that I will start and then delete because they don't seem worth my time to struggle through.
Good job, Karen. I know that feels so good. One of my personal goals this year is to work my way through my remaining unread Discworld books.
When I next get some time to go through them, I will be deleting some history books I've had since my last years of school and from Uni. Most of them will have been added in around 2013. I haven't read them by now I can't really see me reading them. It will be around 10 books. I own almost all of them physically so I will donate them to a charity.

Cleaning out the TBR closet 2024 challengeDuration: 1st January 2024 to 31st December 2024
In 2023, I read 51 books from my TBR, deleted 93 and DNF'd 2. Despite all that, my TBR list seemed to grow. At the beginning of 2023 it was at 1,073. I am starting 2024 with it at 1,105. I will challenge myself to read at least 50 again this year along with a mini challenge to read 15 of my kindle books as I currently have 684 unread books on there.

I finished book 50 today which completed my goal. I may be able to finish another one or two in time, but I feel no pressure now.
I finished book 49
for this challenge. The other books in the series are now on my TBR so it didn't help my list get smaller, but I am planning on continuing the series next year so hopefully they won't be on there long. 1 more to go until I reach my goal of 50.
I just made my TBR list go up. Turns out I had a load of books on my Audible that I hadn't added on here. My TBR list is up to 1,100 which might be the highest it's ever been! I'm determined to make a dent in that number next year. I will be more ruthless with deleting or DNF-ing books if they are not holding my interest. And hopefully I won't add too many new additions to the list.
I will be joining this one as well.
I finished one yesterday which leaves me with 2 left to reach my goal. I'm about 40% through a book that would count and maybe 30% into another one. I also have a couple of short kindle books that I've started and could finish in time if I tried. I should make my goal especially as I have 4 days off over Christmas and plan to do not a lot for at least 2 of them.
