No, it wouldn't. And I felt like the initial victim wasn't too much of a loss from everyone's point of view. But Harp is a genuine casualty and tells us just how ruthless the killer is.

Did you think at any point he was going to be the romantic interest?

34844 1 - Finishing a book WELL ahead of schedule

2 - News of friends coming to visit this summer!

3 - Remembering how good I feel when I bother to eat the right things

4 - The amusing insanity of playing around with AI

5 - Going through old family photos with my dad. He wants someone to know who all these people are, and so I volunteered. It's fascinating.

Don't you love it when wealthy, privileged folks discuss raising the retirement age for people slogging through the week in hope of surviving to the next weekend?

My God. I saw one of these fat, grass-fed fools being interviewed in the capitol, and his response was, "Lots of people tell me they WANT to keep working past retirement, so we should give those people that incentive."

As if A - you weren't allowed to keep working past retirement age if you so choose, and B - people who already wanted to do something NEEDED INCENTIVE TO KEEP DOING IT.

The GALL.

34844 We started The Search Party on Apple. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5460226/

It's amusing but mid-way through the second season, my attention started wandering. Granted, this happens to me A LOT, so it's not necessarily a reflection on the show.

The SO hated every character from the get-go, so that didn't help.

34844 I constantly forget to post here! :-D

44.1644° North by Josh Lanyon went live the night of February 9th (which eerily is the 19th anniversary of when Maura Murray--the girl at the heart of the case this work of fiction was based on--went missing)!

The novella is live everywhere now, including Amazon.

It will be in print within a week or so and Kale Williams is set to do the audio.

FOR THE RECORD: THIS BOOK IS OUT THREE MONTHS EARLY.

34844 **DEFINITE SPOILERS BELOW**

This was--is--the first time I killed off a believable viable second romantic alternative character, and I think readers had some problems with it.

Harp is one of the few characters I regret killing off.

(Which is to say, I liked him and could have used him elsewhere--not that I changed my mind about who and how my main characters ended up together.)

This is the recipe -- it's delicious but for some reason, the muffins were super wet when I baked them. So I've started adding a third cup of ground flax seed, and that seems to have done the trick.

34844 We just finished Bad Sisters, which we LOVED. Highly recommended. Funny and startling and touching and occasionally horrific AND SET IN DUBLIN. Just really terrific characters.

This is one time when I sincerely hope they won't try to do a sequel. A sequel will just mess it up. It ends at the perfect point.

My dogs love snow but hate the rain. :-D I never thought of a cat enjoying snow.

Being able to talk with close friends is one of life's greatest pleasures. And privileges.
