Claire's mouth opened slightly as she was going to say something but shut it when Catrina shot her a glance.
'Should I tell them?' Catrina was still weary of letting anyone else into their lives. And she hadn't known these people for long. "I'd rather not," she answered, looking out for herself and her sister.
Tears stung Claire's eyes but she held them back. She knew what was next. Moving to a new town. Starting a new life. Could she do it again? Of course not. 'I'm done being her puppet...' she thought angrily. "Those people are out to look for us."
"Claire..." Catrina started.
"No, stop Catrina. I'm done hearing your nonsense. Seriously, can you NOT try and brainwash me every two seconds? Can you give me two seconds of some freaking PEACE?!"
Catrina was taken aback, as her sister had never said such words. Especially to her. "Claire..." she started again, this time with more tenderness.
Claire turned back to Trista, ignoring her sister. "We take jobs for a living."
