Hikari dug her feet into the forest floor. She didn't know a thing about the two girls she randomly met in the shed but she did know that she was in danger. Now, she was finding herself again in the fire.
She glanced to her side at Tomatsu. 'C'mon you useless person...wake up! I need you...' She turned back to Alora, gazing at her hand for awhile before finally resolving to bite it. 'So disgusting...'
Alora shouted, but Rosa was already too far ahead, and found herself releasing the girl.
Hikari hadn't time to think about facing both girls herself. Immediately, she turned and ran, leaving Tomatsu in the hands of possibly the two evilest people on the planet.

Laurel sighed. "Not really. All I can do is..." She tried to think of a way to showcase her power but came up empty-handed. "I guess you could say I'm super-smart...but that's it." She thought about telling Lorelei about her plan to fix Shana's problem but decided that her friend, or maybe better described as her acquaintance, would be of more use to her in the dark than with knowledge of her plans.

Hikari shrieked, trying to stop her as the car came barreling towards them. "Shana!" she screamed, running after her friend into the face of danger.
Shana barely pulled Victoria across the lane before the car narrowly missed them. 'Good grief...' But before she could even breathe, she glanced up to see Hikari and Tomatsu grabbed by the two girls and dragged into the forest.
Laurel sighed, trying to sleep as it was already very late. "I'm sure you'll see her again...our past has a way of...coming back to find us, whether we like it or not."

Hikari was just a few steps ahead of her, Tomatsu still out cold in her arms. It was obvious she was struggling in carrying his weight, and Shana wasn't sure how much longer she would last.
She blinked into the darkness, seeing nothing, wishing she did. 'Dammit Kalrik. Where are you NOW?' She frowned, and in her thoughts missed the stone in front of her, tripping over the rock and tumbling into the embankment.
Hikari shrieked as she realized this was a highway, narrowly missing a car that zoomed past her.
Shana glanced up, feeling disoriented, feeling warm liquid on her forehead. 'I hit my head...' She slowly moved her hand to the blood, and tasting it to be sure. The coppery taste stung for a second then tasted slightly sweet. Suddenly the moment felt surreal, and she could barely hear the footsteps behind her, the sudden call of her dead friend. 'Run...?' she asked herself, not sure what was going on.
Laurel laughed, but on the inside she could relate. Frankly, she was sick of the constant worry for herself and for her sister, and sometimes she thought it would just be easier to die. Smirking, while on the inside the dark thoughts returned, thoughts of escape and freedom. "Yeah...I know what you mean."
