Shana glanced up, finding herself in the forest. 'What the... Why am I suddenly here?' Then she remembered how she had entered Alora's mind and decided to sit back for the ride.
A black-haired Asian girl appeared from the thicket, and suddenly she realized the area. Quickly, she spun around, finding the street, finding everything the same. 'This is...'
Laurel popped out from behind the unlit lamp post. "I told you I have to leave...to keep all of us safe..."
The girl seemed angry, enraged. Her foot stomped the wet earth in a very childish gesture even though she seemed the same age as Laurel. "You can't leave me...You promised, you idiot!" Her eyes teared up, blending with the rain falling from the sky.
Laurel glanced away, in obvious emotional pain. "One day, you'll grow up too, Hikari-kun." Without another word, she turned and started walking away.
Hikari shouted something out in a squeaky voice, that made Laurel stop, and Shana took a step closer to hear it more clearly.
"It isn't me who needs to grow up, Lala-kun. It's always been YOU! The only reason this happened is because you didn't listen to me! I told you that painting was too real, it was bound to come true. The second it was made the future took a new course, but I was too "young" for that to be true! Laurel, you're the idiot!" Then Hikari ran away, the rain soaking her long black hair, blending with her tears.
Shana came back to her senses as if a second hadn't passed, although it surely had. 'That painting...' She knew which one Hikari was talking about. She'd found it in the basement one day, and when she showed it to Kalrik, he seemed oddly quiet. 'There's something about that painting...' And suddenly it all came together scary fast. 'Hikari saw that years before me...the painting is the key!' She remembered what Kalrik had told her after a long while. "The future changes with every decision that is made..." Shana tried to shout it out, what was to happen next: the fire, the darkness, the betrayal. But nothing came out, and suddenly, she realized that was foretold in her dreams too.
Before she could figure out what to do, her hands were tied, and the door had already opened, revealing no other than Hikari.
Laurel explored their new headquarters, noting the mattresses that seemed as if they were dumpster-dived for. 'At least it'll work temporarily...'

Alora smiled slightly, like one of those evil stepmothers in the Disney Princesses movies. "Perfect," she purred, leaving the children to Rosa.
Laurel continued to follow Lorelei, but something else was on her mind. "This is where I took Victoria after my aunt was taken away." 'Lorelei...she's just like me.'

Kalrik's head tilted downward in a submissive gesture and yet again he disappeared into thin air.
'Why bother showing up if your just gonna leave?' Shana thought, annoyed, and stood against the wall, her hands messaging her throat.
Alora made a sound of disgust and wheeled around. "Fine then, do what you want with them. But watch out for the mind-reader, she's going too far." She turned just enough so that she could stare Shana in the eye. "Some action might need to be taken."
Laurel thought the same thing as Lorelei as she stumbled across the sand. 'I hate how the unbroken shells dig into your heels...' "Maybe this isn't the best place for headquarters...?"

Shana examined her face for hints about her next move. 'She has to be planning something...people like her don't just appear out of nowhere by chance. She came here on purpose...' Silently, Shana slipped into Alora's mind.
It was dark, raining. The ground was saturated all the way through from the consistent water pattering on its surface. Alone, by a pub, sat a girl. Shana instantly recognized her as Alora, her long red hair unmistakable. Despite how dirty the child was, she looked more or less the same as a child and as an adult.
"Alora, why are you here again...?" a woman asked, a girl Shana had never seen before.
"He left me again...he said to stay here, that you would take care of me..." Alora looked up pleadingly into the woman's eyes. Grasping her ankles, she whispered, "I'm hungry too."
The woman looked down at Alora with a look of disgust that then turned to pity and remorse. She reached down for Alora's hand and brought her inside the pub. "I'll take care of you then...for just a little bit."
The next thing Shana knew she was flush with the wall, gasping for air.
"You little devil," Alora growled, her hand tightening around Shana's throat.
Shana caught a glimpse of Victoria behind Alora, trying her best to stop her. 'It won't work,' she thought, she'd seen this. She remembered this. 'Where is sister? She's supposed to save me...'
"I told you that not everything came true," Kalrik chastised, stepping out of the shadows.
'YOU!' Shana thought, pushing against Alora with all her strength. 'SAVE ME!!!'
Kalrik pretended not to have heard her plea. "I told you the future changes with every decision that is made...I thought you knew that by now..."
Shana struggled harder, running out of air. 'Now's not the time for a lecture...I'M DYING!!'
Laurel followed Lorelei, hoping they'd find shelter soon.
Hikari glanced around, wondering where the red-headed lady had gone. "Um...does anyone know where...?" she started, suddenly noticing that no one was paying any attention to her. 'Might as well disappear now,' she thought, slipping out the door and noticing a small building. 'Its Adventure Time!' she thought, laughing to herself as she thought about the show she used to watch as a young girl.

Laurel silently breathed a sigh of relief. 'At least she's not crazy YET.' "Oh...I'm totally down with that."
A dark form appeared in the doorway, and Shana was instantly put on edge. 'Who is it..?' she wondered, reaching out for Victoria in the darkness and finding something, but it wasn't her friend's hand. Indeed, it was the hand of her worst enemy.
"Looks like you two are having fun in here..." Alora lit a fire in her palm and instantly the room was illuminated to reveal a shack-like structure crawling with insects.
Shana fought back the urge to cuss and run out of the room. 'Wow...they sure do have a lot of shacks here, don't they...?'

Shana groaned to herself and glanced up, seeing the door open a crack and the dim afternoon light stream into the dark room. But, already, the moon was visible in the sky.
Laurel stared at her as if the day had made her brains fall out. "You want us to make our headquarters...a MOUNTAIN?!"

Shana finally stood, her arms wrapped tightly around herself since the dark room had suddenly gotten cold. 'Is this...a shack or something?'
Galrick rolled his eyes as if this sort of information was obvious to everyone. "They should be arriving soon..."
Alora glanced up, as if remembering something. And, most likely, she was, but Hikari couldn't read anything into it. "If you'll excuse me..." she whispered before disappearing into the shadows.
Laurel followed Lorelei. "Are you sure you know where you're going...? I mean...we can't get lost here. It's too late and too dark." The panic was obvious in her voice but her posture suggested a more laid back feel. "We can always stop at a hotel or something and get some directions."

Catrina didn't have time to think before she ducked behind a nearby crate as the warehouse filled with bullets from various automatic weapons. By their size and speed, they were most likely military-grade. She knew the tiny wooden crate wouldn't keep her safe forever, so she started to look around for another, more secure hiding spot.
And then she saw the bag, and the pictures that had spilled out of it.
'I need to get that...' she told herself, glancing up once and taking the chance, she dived for the little brown satchel.

Never wanted to say goodbye,
Never would've spoken a lie,
Just want to be there with you,
Alone and safe and next to you.

Alora stood from where she was sitting on a table she remembered dumpster-diving for, her hair flowing gracefully as she pulled her hand from her pocket. "I'm Alora," she introduced, holding out her hand that seemed a little bit too red for there to not be anything wrong with it. "I hope we'll see much more of each other in the coming future."
Galrick nodded his approval at her, hinting at something a little bit more than encouragement when one of the blondes spoke up.
"I'm Rosa..."

Tomatsu glanced at Galrick, and then explained: "He heads the Paranormals in the U.S. Specifically in the southeastern U.S. Really...he's kinda cool."
Galrick again smiled creepily. "You have no need to be worried. I've had 20 years experience in the hiding/striving for life profession."
Despite his obvious attempt at humor, Hikari didn't laugh. 'Something about him gives me the creeps...' "Okay then. Let's get on with it."
Tomatsu nodded and gestured for Galrick to enter the circle next to Hikari.
"Hope he knows what he's doing," Galrick whispered with that edge of strange humor that only the evilest arms-dealers posses.
"Yeah," Hikari muttered, glancing away from Galrick since she couldn't stand to look at him for another second.
Tomatsu bent down, touched the engravings, and the floor lit up like fireworks on the 4th of July. "Move us please to Miami, Florida," he whispered, and, with a final show of lights, they were off.
