good lord. congratulations on surviving your holidays with family! And not landing in jail for assault. : )
Time to maybe destroy a barn door or something, no?

Nick, that is some brilliant problem solving. You definitely are clued in to what it takes to make marriage last. I have said for many years now, the best thing you can hope for is to find someone who is less annoying to you personally than most of the other people on the planet. Cuz dude, *everyone* is annoying.

Thanks each of you for your support and well wishes. It's a sad time. This weekend is going to be difficult.

My ex-brother-in-law died this morning after a long battle with cancer. My daughter and I are quite busted up about it as he was a super great guy, and her favorite uncle. Jacques was an eccentric man, but well known throughout the world for collecting and restoring tanks and other military vehicles. He was the largest private collector of military vehicles, and has left behind an amazing museum at his home here in California. I feel lucky to have known him and been a small part of his world. One of the best senses of humor I have ever been around, and really a sweet guy. I will definitely miss him.
Here is a blog entry by his second wife:

How about Surf Punk? I don't think I could deal with GangstaJazz.

hm... don't recall that story line. pretty cool idea.

i have heard that also. but watching The Bridge documentary it was also clear that a few people take their own lives after a long period of suffering which shows no hope of improving. It's hard to argue with people who take their lives under those conditions.

tis. which is why I didn't really mean the "pansy" comment. people generally aren't thinking clearly when they take their own lives.

well... i mean... the rest of us live without billions every day and still find a way to go on. Buck up! how bad could it be? Go live with people you like by a river or something. He could've probably gotten some work consulting or something. Or... you know... Starbucks. Pfft...

aww... that's sweet Ruth. I'm so happy for you and your mate that you enjoy that kind of long-lived true love. rare indeed.

i'm a bearded dragon... i live for crickets.

wow... very sorry to hear that.
I was just kidding about the whole "pansy" remark, btw. Just being a brat.

oh damn... I only get 30% of a phony blur. That's just not cricket!

oh my goodness... really Larry? You hit someone on the tracks once?? Yikes!! How traumatic!!!

Twitter's security melted down on Monday in the face of a phishing campaign directed at Twitter users and the hacking of Twitter's support software.
The security failure has resulted in the temporary takeover of Twitter accounts associated with Facebook, Fox News, The Huffington Post, Barack Obama, Britney Spears, and CNN's Rick Sanchez.

http://www.sciam.com/blog/60-second-s..."When the scientists showed the subjects photos of their partners, the fMRIs detected intense activity in the ventral tegmental area of their brains, a region that produces the pleasure-giving neurotransmitter dopamine. A previous study of 17 people in the early, lustful months of relationships showed similar activity in the same brain area, a core component of our motivation and reward network."

seventy thirtieths??? cool! I get more than double!!! sweet!

where's my take? hand it over.
