3113 I liked that tiny little picture you just had up Rusty. Was that you and your bambino? Very cute.

3113 HA HA HA HA... that scene made me glad to be alive. mmmm... naked Viggo fighting....

3113 believe me, KD, there's a whole mess of things I'd much rather not endure myself... but I take it as inevitable if I'm going to be around other humans. It's why I tend to stay home a lot.
Dec 31, 2008 03:47PM

3113 jeeze, KD... who tied your knickers in a knot today?
Dec 31, 2008 03:44PM

3113 The kid was kind of irritating. I have to agree with you there.

Come to find out, Wes Anderson didn't direct The Darjeeling Express. No wonder I didn't like it!! Ha ha ha ha.

3113 well... it's pretty offensive to compare breast feeding to taking a shit. for those of us who have practiced breast feeding it's a pretty sacred experience. perhaps you could have found a less offensive comparison.

I didn't call you mental. I said that equating breasts to anuses is mental. Which, come on... don't you think it is a little?

But, you know, calling someone mental isn't a big insult in my world. I call myself mental on a pretty regular basis. So... pot kettle and all that.

Peace, dude. I wish you well.

3113 people eat in public without having to cover their faces. breast feeding is akin to eating.

uhm... do you really equate breasts to anuses? Dude, that's kind of mental.

3113 Throckmorton P... I have to say that nothing can ever compare to the original 'The Day The Earth Stood Still'. I enjoyed the new one only on the merits of it's own existence. I decided when I went in to see it that I would try to not think about it in comparison to the original. It kind of worked. I expected to hate it. I wound up kind of enjoying it. I have to say it was a shock to me as well.

3113 "21" • mildly entertaining. didn't make me want to run screaming from the room.

"27 Dresses" • very entertaining chick flick. the scene in the bar where they are singing elton john songs badly was pretty dang amusing.

"88 Minutes" • al pacino being al pacino. not a waste of time.

"Burn After Reading" • funniest film of the year. OMG I love the Cohen Bros.

"Chronicles of Narnia 2" • eye candy for those of us who have a narnia fetish. loved susan with her bow. peter and prince caspian are secret lovers.

"Cloverfield" • AHHH HA HA HA HA HA HA!!! what is that thing?? A giant Tick??? Oh man... definitely worth seeing, if only for the crack factor.

"The Dark Knight" • Best Batman yet. Best Joker yet. I still can't believe Heath Ledger is dead. What a way to go out. Dude should have gotten some therapy.

"The Day The Earth Stood Still" • actually much better than I expected it to be. Pretty dang cool special effects. I kept expecting Keanu to say "Mister Anderson". Thumbs up.

"Death Race" • my daughter made me go see this with her. Uhm... lots of exploding cars and scruffy men and chicks who can kick your ass. If you're into that sort of thing, it's just the ticket.

"Definitely Maybe" • I kinda liked this... but honestly I can't say I'd watch it again on purpose. It was just kinda... meh,

"The Grand" • utter and complete crack. Woody Harrelson is so very very odd. I don't think I watched the entire film. It was... kind of rambly.

"Hancock" • really great superhero film. Totally worth a watch.

"The Happening" • I know a lot of people hated this film... but I love M. Night Shayamalan. Creepy as hell... and well done. Some scenes are hard to watch.

"Harold And Kumar 2" • HATED THIS FILM. that's all.

"In Bruges" • This is a really good film, but I never finished watching it. I got really anxious about what was going to happen to the main character and had to turn it off. Maybe I was just having a bad day. Someday I'll find out what happens. I'm pretty sure it wasn't going to be good.

"Incredible Hulk 2008" • Awesome Hulk movie. Much better than any of the other Hulk films or TV shows. Edward Norton was awesome.

"Indiana Jones 4" • SUCKTASTIC

"Iron Man" • Best Superhero film this year... I love RDJ. Fun!!!

"Leatherheads" • This film was so bad I couldn't finish watching it. How could George Clooney suck so badly?? It must have been the presence of Rene Zellweger... it sucked all the talent right out of the room.

"Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day" • I loved this film. I really did. I have a whole thing for Ciaran Hinds ever since he did "Persuasion"... and Frances McDormand is awesome.

"Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" • OMG TERRIble Indy Film!!!! Hippies!!! Indy music!!! AAIIIIGH!!!! don;t do it... seriously... just don't go there.

"The Other Boleyn Girl" • yummy pretentious costume drama... with yummy eric bana... and yummy scarlett johansson. oh joy. oh rapture. oh my secret soul.

"Penelope" • this was my favorite movie of the year, I have to say. I love Christina Ricci... and fairytales... and James McAvoy is HOT. Really lovely story... gorgeous colors... five stars!!!

"The Pineapple Express" • I wanted to like this film because I love Wes Anderson. But I just couldn't endure it. I understand it gets better towards the end of the film. Maybe I'll watch the rest of it someday.

"Quantum of Solace" • WOOPHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Daniel Craig sexy!!!!!!! BOnd YAY!!!! that's all.

"Sex And The City Movie" • Uhm... I have to say this film finally killed my interest in Sex and the City. I just don't care anymore about whether or not Carrie and Big get it on. I don't care if any of them find shoes to wear, or survive cancer, or ever have sex again. Skinny, irritating, bitches.

"Smart People" • Awesome funny and quirky. Decent little indy film.

"The Spirit" • YAY Frank Miller!!! Loved loved loved it.

"Stop Loss" • depressing as fuck. really important to watch. Really great film. oscar material.

"Vantage Point" • This was better than I expected it to be. Very tense and fast moving... with plot twists. Definitely worth a watch.

"Wanted" • Ahh ha ha h ha ha..... oh man... this movie was on crack. If god's feet are the bakers at dawn, then who is weaving the loom of insanity? exactly. James McAvoy is hot, but this movie was not!!! Stupid on a stick.

"What Happens In Vegas" • exactly what I expected it to be. Like eating taffy. Kind of enjoyable, but no real nutritional value.

"X Files 2 The Movie" • very nice return to the Mulder and Scully universe. I thought this was better than the end of the X Files series. Well done.

Now you!! Tell me what you watched!

3113 On Dec. 27, some 11,000 protesters held a virtual nurse-in by uploading breast-feeding photos onto their Facebook profiles, and 20 or so women showed up at the company's headquarters in Palo Alto, Calif., to breast-feed there. By Dec. 30, more than 85,000 members had joined a Facebook group called "Hey, Facebook, breastfeeding is not obscene!"

I remember when I was a nursing mom. I breast fed openly pretty much anywhere I went. I got some very mixed reactions. Face it... this culture is very uncomfortable with the actualities of reproduction. Anything related to making babies makes a lot of people freak out. It's kind of amusing, really. Well, it is to me.

Any thoughts?

3113 Larry... that was hysterical. I had never seen clips from Soupy Sales' TV show. It's like a demented Fred Rogers.

Girlfriends.... BFFs....Sistah Love.....

Rusty... gynomance??? estromance??? dude.... you went all clinical on us. That's just... wrong.

I tuned into the MTV Bromance show last night just to see what it was all about... could only stand about 3 minutes of it. Good lord... it's hard to believe people was to watch that crap. A whole universe of people I am pretty sure the universe could do without.
Dec 30, 2008 09:42AM

3113 It took me several minutes at the beginning of the film to get into it. It's definitely stylized, and I thought at first it might be terrible. But then I kinda got the POV of the film and really enjoyed the rest. Except Scarlett Johanson is kind of odd in her role. As if she was somewhat distracted during some of the takes.
Dec 29, 2008 10:59PM

3113 Have you read 'The Spirit' Jackie? I had never read them before, but they showed some of the art in the closing credits and I love his style. The plot was very comic booky... very traditional male POV... but I really thought they did a good job with the film.
Dec 29, 2008 10:40PM

3113 it's a comic book. It's actually a really great film. A lot of laughs, really gorgeous graphics, good acting. Samuel L Jackson freaking rocks.

But if you don't like comic books you probably won't like it.
