I did like it. Since it is YA, sometimes the characters annoy me,probably an age thing, but I enjoyed the story quite a big. I really want to read The Gargoyle, it is on my TR list.

24794 I read Jane and the Damned (Immortal Jane Austen, #1) by Janet Mullany and found it funny, however, it was an original story not a classic. I have never read P&P&Z, and having heard some negative reviews am not sure about wanting to read it. I love paranormal books, but can see where some things should not go. I'd like to see what it is like, but scared as well. That would be one to get from the library. Not sure if that makes sense. Apparently, I'm a fence rider!:)

24794 This has nothing to do with our to read except, that it is based on Jane Eyre. I have to add this to my pile, because it just makes me laugh.Jane Slayre

24794 LOL! I recently read The Fallen series and The Beuford & Company series, and it is mentioned quite a bit in those. It sparked my interest, but I'm still quaking in my boots.

24794 That is a great list! Our bookshelf has all of our previous reads on it. Is there any of those that you would be interested in reading sooner that the others?

I have always thought tackling Dante's Inferno would be interesting, especially since it is mentioned every where in literature, it scares me though, rather like Don Quixote.

24794 Sorry for being so anxious! I get way to excited about choosing books, so we will wait until later in the month to finalize stuff! That way more people can nominate books if they want to! Sorry again! Hehe!

Is that light reading? I was thinking that maybe you needed some Dr. Seuss. You have been reading some heavy stuff! LOL

24794 I just thought of this one, how about The Scarlet Pimpernel?

24794 Hmmmm, maybe we should have Wuthering Heights as a buddy read and choose something else for a group read at that time! I must say, ladies, I now have reservations about reading this again. I read it in school and must have blocked it out. Don't remember anything except the main man was named after a cartoon cat!

24794 How is this for an idea? We could read The Count of Monte Cristo during the summer months(May-August) since it is another long one(1200+) pages. Then we could read Frankenstein in September or we could have both books going during the summer. Frankenstein is around 250 pages. Then we could add Wuthering Heights in October. How does that sound?

24794 Sometimes I wonder what certain books have that others don't. It definitely needs to be a fabulous story, one that grabs your attention. Like Justice Potter Stewart said " I shall not today attempt further to define the kinds of material I understand to be embraced...but I know it when I see it." Does that make sense? Sometimes you just know when a book is a classic.
