222868 Liz... I don't think that you have anything to worry about regarding the Kate Daniels series. The main theme between Kate and her father comes to a conclusion, but it ended in a way that encourages more stories in Kate's world. Have you read Hugh's book? We know that there are two more books in his series and there are supposed to be a couple of books about Roman. I didn't have a sad feeling about the series ending, it was actually hopeful.

I have been attempting to clear my audio TBR. I finished The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After The Bridgertons Happily Ever After (Bridgertons, #1.5-8.5; 9.5) by Julia Quinn which is a compilation of the second episodes of the Bridgerton series and a short story.
In keeping with the Bridgerton family, I started on the Rokesbys series, (a prequel of sorts), Because of Miss Bridgerton. Because of Miss Bridgerton (Rokesbys, #1) by Julia Quinn I liked it so much that I will read the next book in the series, The Girl with the Make-Believe Husband The Girl with the Make-Believe Husband (Rokesbys, #2) by Julia Quinn the third book The Other Miss Bridgerton The Other Miss Bridgerton (Rokesbys, #3) by Julia Quinn will be out in November.

I started on an Audible Original, Second Hand Curses. Second Hand Curses by Drew Hayes This has a trio of characters who are curse breakers, people finders, and general good guys who are just bad enough to right wrongs. Known as the Bastard Champions, they take the tough cases in this fantasy world of bad Fae and Pied Pipers, for a price of course. The book reads like a radio show, with 3 different narrators doing multiple voices. Each "chapter" is another case.

On kindle, I am reading an offshoot of the Everlasting, ME series, Don’t Stop Bewitching. Don’t Stop Bewitching (Bewitchingly Ever After #1) by Mandy M. Roth

222868 Mindy.... On the Ammy site the paperback edition is listed as having 160 pages. I believe that you can read the entire first chapter on Ilona Andrew's site. It will give you a feel for the tone of the story. If you have been reading the Hidden Legacy series I'm sure that you will be excited to read the Nevada and Connor wedding story.

222868 Witch's Reign Witch's Reign (Desert Cursed, #1) by Shannon Mayer is free on KU. The other 2 books in this series, (which are currently the only ones published so far), are reasonable @ $3.99 a piece.

222868 I think that posting the covers is eating up my allotted number of characters left. So I had to stop posting the book covers.

Bump, Bump, Bump..... Trying to fill my challenge spots. Good Luck Everyone, Carry on!! :-)

222868 The 10th book in the Belador series by Dianna Love just came out this week.

Treoir Dragon Hoard: Belador Book 10 Treoir Dragon Hoard Belador Book 10 by Dianna Love

I finished the second book in the Custard Protocol series, Imprudence Imprudence (The Custard Protocol, #2) by Gail Carriger I think that I liked it a bit more than the first. There is quite a bit of adventure, lots of great characters to expand upon, and a simmering romance. There are quite a few battle scenes and a very big question to answer, (Why?).
The next book is about the best friend, Primrose Tunstall and while I like her and the other characters, I might hold off on listening to Competence Competence (Custard Protocol, #3) by Gail Carriger for a while. Also, as a side, the cover model doesn't look at all like I thought that Prim would look like. She is just too plain and boring to be right.
I love Carringer's way of twisting phrases, and her dry sense of humor. Her books have always been an enjoyable read.

While I am still cleaning out my audio TBR, I seem to find more books that I want to read once I finish the first book in the series. That really wasn't my intent, then again you know what they say about good intentions...

melindeeloo... I did pick up the Olson book, Companion Pieces: Stories from the Old World and Beyond Companion Pieces Stories from the Old World and Beyond by Melissa F. Olson It's free on KU, Yay!

Manadh... I put Fanetti on my to read list, as soon as I am able I will check those out, thanks!

Vinity... What do they say for your area? My cousin just posted some really high wave pictures sent to him by a friend on the N.C. coast, (who is possibly a first responder or nurse).

Lisa... I am still thinking Loki, but we have Dog, and Dane. (view spoiler)

222868 Good luck Vinity. I hope that everything bypasses you and your town. It could happen.

On an entirely different note, the book that has been anticipated for many years will be released on September 25th. Cross Breed Cross Breed (Breeds, #23) by Lora Leigh Lora Leigh's Breeds series was one of the first "shifter" series that I really got caught up in, and it was incredibly smexy. I have since found other shifter series, but this book is about Cassie and her totally unknown mate. Any guesses?

Lisa... I agree with you regarding Cassandra Clare's YA series. My favorite is also the Infernal Devices. I can't wait for a spin off. It's got to have Will's family.

On audio I started listening to Prudence. Prudence (The Custard Protocol, #1) by Gail Carriger I listened to the Parasol Protectorate series, I didn't read the YA, Finishing School series. I think that I like the daughter a bit more than her mother.

Demetra... I have been considering The Grey Bastards The Grey Bastards (The Lot Lands, #1) by Jonathan French it is the September Book of The Month on the Girls, Guns and Grimoires Group, and there is a discussion about the book there. I do like the cover. Did you read the book or did you listen to it on audio? At $13.99 a pop, I think that I will listen on audio. It's a good $4.00 cheaper.

I finished Lord of Shadows. Lord of Shadows (The Dark Artifices, #2) by Cassandra Clare I'm glad that the next and final book comes out in December, because I couldn't stand it to wait for a really long time for the continuation of the story. It just leaves us in chaos.

222868 TINNGG.... Good luck with the major project at home. It's always something, isn't it?

I'm almost done with Lord of Shadows (The Dark Artifices). After that I have no idea what to read.

Does everyone know that Magic Triumphs debuted at #2 on the NYT and #5 on the USA Today Book Reviews? Great for them.

222868 Lisa... Congrats on the new grandbaby!! You'll have your own little tribe in no time!! Snuggle him and enjoy!

Thanks for all of the well wishes. My Grandmother is really something else. She seems to be taking this with dignity and grace.
On a funnier note, one thing that she does is every time that I go visit her, she gives me a coloring book that she has finished and signs them. She also notes who gave her the book and tries to give that person that book. What a rock star!

On the reading front, I am still listening to Lord of Shadows Lord of Shadows (The Dark Artifices, #2) by Cassandra Clare I generally like these books, but they are still filled with teen angst. One thing that I do like is that even though the setting for the Dark Artifices books are in L.A. you hear about and occasionally get a visit from previous couples from the other series, The Mortal Instruments, ( Clary and Jace), and The Infernal Devices, (Tessa and Jem). At 23 1/2 hours, this is a very long book.

222868 I wrote a huge post and it just disappeared. I clicked on the bookcover link for Queen of Air and Shadows and everything floated off into the ether. Dang!!

Doug... How did you like The Grand Sophy? I love the main character.
Did you know that A Muddle of Magic A Muddle of Magic (Fledgling Magic #2) by Alexandra Rushe is available on NetGalley?

I am done with my foray into The Chronicles of St Mary's and I can't wait for the next book. The humor is top notch. These are excellent on audio. I love Jodi Taylors' sense of humor. A pod of whales, a gaggle of geese, and an An Argumentation of Historians. An Argumentation of Historians (The Chronicles of St Mary's, #9) by Jodi Taylor
I have to clean out my audio TBR, so I am listening to the latest Dark Artifices book, Lord of Shadows. Lord of Shadows (The Dark Artifices, #2) by Cassandra Clare The next book, Queen of Air and Darkness Queen of Air and Darkness (The Dark Artifices, #3) by Cassandra Clare will be out in early December and I figured that I should get caught up.
On kindle, I think that I will read Phoenix Unbound. Phoenix Unbound (Fallen Empire, #1) by Grace Draven which Grace Draven so graciously offered to me as an ARC.

On a personal note, I went to North Carolina this past weekend because my 102 year old Grandmother has been diagnosed with cancer. She says that she is good with it, and that she is feeling OK, with no pain. My siblings and I decided to visit her over the long weekend. She was happy to see everyone and is just as cheerful as ever. It was really nice to sit and visit with her. We all went home with, (adult), coloring books which she signed and wrote her age, she is something else.

Edited for clarity.

222868 I have been working today so I am about to start Magic Triumphs. Magic Triumphs (Kate Daniels, #10) by Ilona Andrews

I have been listening to the Chronicles of St Mary's books non-stop. I just finished the much anticipated/dreaded 8th book, And the Rest is History. And the Rest is History (The Chronicles of St Mary’s, #8) by Jodi Taylor It was heartwrenching and hysterical at the same time. Although I kind of dreaded reading it, I must say that Jodi Taylor is an outstanding author. Her grasp of emotions, humor, history, and tragedy are up there with some of the best. I have read that numerous people wanted to quit after a couple of the earlier books and were so glad that they continued and I would say that if you feel that way then try and stick with the series. It is so worth it. I am very impressed with this series, and I am sadly on the last book that is currently published, An Argumentation of Historians. An Argumentation of Historians (The Chronicles of St Mary's, #9) by Jodi Taylor

(After Magic Triumphs of course) :-}

222868 Doug... That's some process. So do you have such a short life expectancy that you don't have to worry about the tapeworm?
Also, you asked about Year One I tend to agree w/Demetra. Two of the story lines were rather obvious, and I don't really appreciate the killing of interesting characters whom you have invested half a book in. It was a good book, but not a great read.

I would like to say that I will take Tuesday off, but sadly I can't, but I do see a really late night of reading in my future, maybe two.

For those of us who read Painter's Nocturne Falls books, The Detective Wins The Witch The Detective Wins The Witch (Nocturne Falls, #10) by Kristen Painter came out last Tuesday.

222868 Has anyone noticed that Molly Harper has a new series out? Apparently this one is more YA and doesn't have her signature zany humor. The first book is Changeling. Changeling (Sorcery and Society, #1) by Molly Harper

Doug... The Keri Arthur books have popped up a few times as "recommended for me". I put them on my wish list.
I must admit, I haven't read any of the Vampire for Hire books in a long time. I don't know why that series just faded away for me.

Lisa... I think that you will really like the St Mary's books. The premise for the books is well done. Important events in history are believable and the crew and especially the MC, Max, all have crazy things happen to them. I am so addicted to them. The time travel aspect and their no interference policy makes this series plausible.

222868 Waverly.... I agree, we do tend to like the same books. I'm almost done with No Time Like the Past. No Time Like the Past (The Chronicles of St. Mary's, #5) by Jodi Taylor

I wonder if Max (view spoiler)

Vinity... I really thought that at some point we would see more Max and Leon. I love the back and forth between two really awkward people who happened to find the one who actually understands. Jodi Taylor has an incredible knack for that.

222868 Waverly... I wonder why the key was hidden in the book, and what was it to? Paw prints, not something that I would have thought would have been preserved for all time. Kinda cool.

Have you read all of the Chronicles of St Mary's series? (I think I saw a review by you). You get history, time travel, a hard sought romance, lots of action, and tons of sarcasm, all rolled into one.

I finished book 4, A Trail Through Time A Trail Through Time (The Chronicles of St. Mary's #4) by Jodi Taylor and judging by all of the reviews, I thought that I wasn't going to like this book as much, but I thought that it was actually quite good. I'm not generally fond of rebooting a series in the middle, but somehow this isn't as bad as I anticipated. Max and Leon in the first 1/3 of the book are hopping from timeline to timeline, and are always pursued by the Time Police. Then suddenly they aren't in the same time together anymore. I love their banter and would really appreciate it if just for one book that they were together. I will continue to listen to this series, and I think that I have found another narrator that I enjoy in Zara Ramm. I have jumped right in on the 5th book, No Time Like the Past. No Time Like the Past (The Chronicles of St. Mary's, #5) by Jodi Taylor
