Who am I? (40 new)

222868 Isn't that always the case, waiting forever with a camera in your hand while you wait for the goat to do something that he does 200 times a day when you are without one!! LOL!

222868 isanythinopen... I love your little goat picture. Is there anything cuter than a baby,(kid), goat? My friends had miniature Nubians and I loved their little hooves clopping up on things, they run and jump and spin around, I could watch them for hours. Cool name too! :-}

222868 Oh and Doug, I'm unequivocally all about the revenge. I like it in my books and I most certainly like it in my movies.

222868 Doug... I liked the story but I didn't like the fact that we have no info about what Sere is supposed to do. I don't like the "lord" he's a snake. Etienne is an ass, and even her sister is kind of a bitch. I do like the niece, Iona. She's a clever one. I wonder if she is the "lords" child. One thing that I don't get is if the sister could stand in the ring and fight with her, then why did the "lord" go all crazy and say that if she died then Sere would too? Why did the Fae stab the sister and then forfeit? I found the whole ring fight stupid anyway. I'm not much for politics and Fae demenses or hierarchy, so I hope that there isn't a lot of Fae grandstanding for the next couple of books. That would just turn me off to the series. I thought that I was going to read about the sisters and their HEA's, in a mining town. I feel like these are all "chapters" that make up one bigger book. When is the next book coming out? Do you know?

Vinity... Tessa Dare is an auto buy for me too.

222868 Doug, really? That stinks. I'm still reading the book though. There are a couple of sisters and brothers left so we might get our vengeance fix for some other reason at a later date. By the way, is your family OK with all of the wild weather? Anyone else here affected by the latest set of storms?

Candace... I accidentally clicked on your picture, went to your GR page and saw that you had a Cade and Holly quote. (IAD), that book is one of my all time favorites in the PNR world. So thanks for the reminder, LOL!! :-}

222868 I finished my re-listen to the Kleypas Wallflower series. I like the wit and snark in these. I am listening to an audio book that I either got on sale or it ways a Daily Deal, The Innkeeper of Ivy Hill The Innkeeper of Ivy Hill (Tales from Ivy Hill, #1) by Julie Klassen . This is the beginning of an historical series about a young widow who has inherited her husband's family Inn. So far it is interesting but not very lively, in fact it is a tad bit too solemn.

On kindle I finished The Mountain King The Mountain King (Dragon, Stone & Steam #1) by Emma Alisyn and went right into the second book, The Silver Spider, The Silver Spider (Dragon, Stone & Steam, #2) by Emma Alisyn . These are free on KU and are quick reads.
Edited to fix the links.

222868 I just watched the next episode of Outlander on demand. I think that Bree is actually growing on me. She was so flat a character in both the show and the books, but she is "better" in this episode.

I have to say, I love their use of music in this series.

The "next" episode, (in 2 weeks), will be an extended one.

222868 I've recently had an Amazon update that a book on my wish list had dropped in price. I think that was the first time that I had an email for that.

222868 Vinity... In the TV series Frank appears to have one girlfriend who waited for him for years. In the novels, he had multiple girlfriends. There is a quote by Claire that said something like numerous women knocked on their door and ask Claire why she never granted Frank a divorce, and Claire told them all that he never asked for one.

222868 Hi Lisa, Sorry it is "Guilty Pleasure" reading.
My friend who reads some PNR and mostly romance calls those books her dirty little pleasure reads. I got you two mixed up. Oops!

222868 Maybe we should try and create a Weekend Reading discussion and maybe Perri will be able to locate us by searching for that.

222868 Coffeentea... Have you read Perdition by Ann Aguirre? That is a rough and raw series about a prison "ship" and the struggle between powers for control and some redemption. It's heavy but very good, and only a 3 book series.
Also, as Lisa, Aussie Girl, puts it "a dirty little pleasure" you might try the very smexy series, Brides of the Kindred, by Evangeline Anderson.

222868 "Waving back" Candace... Of course I remember you, I hope that you are feeling well. We have to get together at some point. We need a good book signing so the NY, MA, and CT people can all meet up.

222868 Candace wrote: "In regards to reading, has anyone read Towe of Dawn yet by Sarah Maas?"

You and I must be on the same page Candace, Also, you were one of the people that I was thinking about when I was hoping that the former posters found their way here.

I was just going to ask about the vary same book. I got an email from Amazon about another book and Tower of Dawn was listed at the bottom. This is the story about the Captain of the Guard, Chaol, from the Throne of Glass series. The book just came out in September, but I haven't seen anyone mention it. I do hate when you get close to the dramatic conclusion of a series, and the author slips off into another direction just because they can.

222868 I have been watching Outlander and I am happy about the way they handled the Geneva incidents. I think that the end of the next episode will be Claire/Jaime reunion. I still wonder if they can get the whole Voyager book in this season. It seems a bit too much for one season.

I have been watching Midnight,Texas and they seem to be doing a pretty good job of sticking to the books. There was a meshing of a couple of scenes from different books but they seem to be sticking to the overall storylines. I think that I would like it even if I had never read the books. I hope that Charlaine Harris writes more in that series, now that NBC is producing it. In the Midnight, Texas novels there are a few cross-over characters from her other series. So if you have read her other books you will recognize a few characters in the TV show, especially next season, (I hope).

On the book front, I finished Orion, and Night's Caress by Mary Hughes. Hughes' series started out as a goofy and funny series, but it has evolved into a more serious series. I really like it and I have found that the writing and characters have really been given some depth.
I have started The Mountain King.
On audio, I finished the latest in the Kingfountain series book 5 The Silent Shield. I am also almost done with my re-listen to the Wallflowers series by Lisa Kleypas. Devil in Winter is almost done and I will listen to Scandal in Spring, about the 4th and final "Wallflower", Daisy.
On Girls, Guns and Grimoires, (GR Group), there is a book of the month read and it is Born in Fire, and the short story is Water Witch by Faith Hunter and D. B. Jackson the author of the Thieftaker Chronicles, and is set in the 1700's. The lead character is a relative of the family of witches, (the Everharts), in the Jane Yellowrock series.
