Thanks for the info on
A Discovery of Witches I think that I listened to book 1 and everyone was down on book 2 so I didn't bother to waste an Audible credit on the next book.
I am not sure that I want to get into the Crown or Codex series, so I might have to pass on this 2 for 1 Audible sale.

Carol... I really liked
Bayou Born
too. I thought that it has good bones. You can always rely on Hailey Edwards to give you characters and supernaturals that are entirely uncommon. Did you happen to read her Black Dog series, and the Gemini spin-offs? Those seem to have improved as the stories went along too, with all kinds of off the wall species.
I finished
Fooled Around and Spelled In Love
, it's no War and Peace, but I am finding that I like the quirky town, it's even nuttier residents, and the "mysteries" to solve in each novel. These are all by different authors with each book coming out 1 a week, and the 4th and final book is out Tuesday, Halloween.
I started a new series by Dianna Love, (author of the Belador series). It's
Gray Wolf Mate
. It has a darker feel, I think that these will have different couples in the series, and can be read as stand alone books. The series is called the Gallize Shifters series. Gallize are supposed to be enhanced shifters, sort of the most Alpha of the Alpha's, who are in a law enforcement/commando type of group.
So I've been in an historical TV series/movie mood and started watching Poldark. So far it has proven to be a great series. I am almost done with season 1. This is one of the PBS Masterpiece Theater series. I loved the lead character actor Aidan Quinn in the BBC version of the Being Human series, and I am very glad to see him in this part. Like in his part in the Being Human series, Quinn plays a rogue character who doesn't play well with the aristocracy in which he was raised. (He didn't play well with his fellow Vampires either). Three seasons of Poldark is free on Amazon Prime.

I'm also listening to
The Courtesan Duchess
. Are the other books good reads too?

I just saw that all 3 of the Blackthorn and Grim books are on the 2 for 1 sale. These are excellent on audio.

On the 2 for 1 audible sale, has anyone read/listened to
The Crown Tower
I have read something else by Sullivan. I'm just not sure that I want to get into another fantasy series with a ton of books.
Also,
Furies of Calderon
is part of the sale. I know that some here were kind of ambivalent about these books, are they worth the read?
I also have the
A Discovery of Witches
audio, and was wondering if the series is any good or did it slack off or spiral down a crappy path? I thought that there was a reason that I didn't read it or that I didn't continue with the series, but quite frankly I can't remember much about it. The second book is also part of the 2 for 1 sale.

Here's another Netflix Original Series, that looks really good- Alias Grace. A Margaret Atwood novel. I hope that the link works.

Wow that looks like a cross between Lord of the Rings and Escape from LA. I think that I'm in for this movie. Thanks for the link D.

I finished
Belador Cosaint: Belador Book 9
It was an excellent read. I love that this series isn't getting stale. This is a book about Quinn and Reese (who appeared in the last books), searching out Quinn's daughter, Phoedra after she was kidnapped. There are lots of twists and turns in this one. Bad guys are really bad and given to "good" moments. It is an interesting mix. There was little of Evalle, Storm, Adrianna, and sweetheart Fenix, but this was about Quinn's quest this time. The ending, per usual, had another web to weave. All in all, I gave this 4.5-5*'s.
I have the next book in the Happily Everlasting series,
Fooled Around and Spelled In Love
These are fun and light and about a supernatural town in ME. I love the play on song titles in this series.

Candace... I read the last Vlad book,
Into the Fire
. Ian was his usual sarcastic and callous self, but I love his character. I think that that book had the most info about him that I have read . Frost has said for a long time that Ian isn't telling her his story. So, I hope that it is finally going to be true.
Lots of my books were not on my 2017 challenge list/Bookshelf, Nearly all of my audio books were not listed even though I always rate them and it says it will be posted on Goodreads. I have looked all through the help forum and there doesn't seem to be a way to automatically add audio books. I had a couple that appeared with the right dates, but I just went through my Audible library and added probably 30+ books. Amazon, Goodreads and Audible are all Ammy owned, you would think that this would be solved by now.

HJ.... I know what you mean about Claire's ring and Brianna. I didn't remember that fact about Jaime's scar and JR.

HJ that is quite a great story. I love Lake Champlain.

I wasn't impressed with young Ian either, maybe he will grow into his part. One question, why does Claire still wear Frank's wedding band? Why didn't Jaime tell Claire that he got his scar killing Jack Randall? Just a couple of things that are bugging me after the reunion episode.
Another thing that I do like is in the series, Jaime and Claire tell people that she went to the colonies. In the books they say she went to her relatives in France, who were the people that she was supposed to visit when she was captured after going through the stones the first time. I always wondered why she said France not America.

Sorry to keep posting.
They have cast Ed Speleers from Aragon and Downton abbey as the bad guy, Stephen Bonnet in season 4 of Outlander. He played the blond haired footman on D.A.
Jana DeLeon's last 2 Miss Fortune books will finally be out on audio on Halloween.
Later Gator
Hook, Line and Blinker
These are hilarious on audio, I liked them so much that I refused to read them on kindle. Incidentally, Hook Line and Blinker is cheaper if you order the kindle book and then add the audio, which is weird. Usually the older book would be on sale and the latest book would be full price.

I'm not sure if you folks know the html shortcuts for spoilers on GR.

Sorry that didn't work too well. Enter < then the word spoiler, then > add your post. To close the spoiler < then /spoiler and >

Another link for Outlander... Brianna and Jaime meet and she reunites with Claire in season 4 of Outlander. So I guess that the show plans to do all of Voyager this season.

Re: Outlander/ Mr. Willoughby
(view spoiler)[ Mr Willoughby (in Jamaica), actually kills the "preacher" who was killing young single women in both Edinburgh and Jamaica. Willoughby was accused of killing the young girl at the party because they found his tiny footprints in her blood. In actuality he saw the preacher kill her and he ran away. Mr Willoughby was also the person who turned Jaime in for smuggling. He kills the preacher at Gilly's house to save Claire and then leaves to join the run away/ free slaves from Gilly's plantation in the woods. (hide spoiler)]

Re: Outlander ...I am liking the way the show is cutting out some of the excess that a good editor could have removed. A lot happens in
Voyager
I'm still not sure that they will get through this book in one season.
In the books, Mr. Willoughby is tiny. The actor that they have portraying him seems a tad bit too tall. I know I'm being too picky. :-}

OOps, Grey did give Jaime the portrait when they were in Jamaica, or wherever they were. Claire saw them embrace and she was a bit disturbed by it.

I forgot to answer LAB's question. No, I don't think so. Jaime told Claire about William after she found out about Laoghaire and her daughters at Lallybroch.

Re: The Outlander question. I think that Lord Grey gave Jaime a gift of a portrait of William before they left for the West Indies to retrieve Ian. So Jaime had a photograph of Brianna and a portrait of William. Both were lost at the end of Voyager when Claire was swept off the boat when the mast broke after the hurricane.
