222868 Jana DeLeon's latest Miss Fortune book just came out yesterday-
Reel of Fortune Reel of Fortune (A Miss Fortune Mystery Book 12) by Jana Deleon . I love these books and have been doing them on audio, I hate that the Audible version comes out so long after the kindle version. No matter how many times people ask, the audio version doesn't even go into negotiations until after the kindle version is released, so you have to wait for months.

The Jane Can't Cook, cookbook is available to the "claws" community on the Jane Yellowrock and Faith Hunter's worlds Discussion facebook page, it is under "files".

Did you have fun at the anniversary party yesterday?"

Thank you melindeeloo, I had a great time at the Anniversary party and a nice low-key birthday. My husband and I needed to just sit and relax, he is preparing to drive to Oregon and I'm trying to get him organized.

I finished Hyacinth's book, It's in His Kiss It's in His Kiss (Bridgertons, #7) by Julia Quinn and decided to listen to a totally different book, Lakota Honor. Lakota Honor by Kat Flannery The main character, Nora is a 19 year old woman with a gift for healing. Secluded by her father, Nora only hopes to have a life like everyone else, but he won't allow her any friends. She is pursued by a rich, hateful, and cruel mine owner who wants to marry her so her can claim her whenever he wants. This is set in the late 1800's Colorado.

222868 Just for fun there is a "Jane Can't Cook Cookbook" available to download, (Jane Yellowrock). Apparently, it is an accumulation of reader submitted recipes. It sounds like fun, though I haven't looked at it yet.

I have a very busy weekend, and have already baked what I needed to make by 7:30 this morning. I have been reading the Love at Stake series by Kerryelyn Sparks and finished Be Still My Vampire Heart. Be Still My Vampire Heart (Love at Stake, #3) by Kerrelyn Sparks which I happened to like very much. I have continued on with The Undead Next Door The Undead Next Door (Love at Stake, #4) by Kerrelyn Sparks

On audio I am listening to Hyacinth Bridgerton's story, It's in His Kiss It's in His Kiss (Bridgertons, #7) by Julia Quinn I'm glad that she is portrayed as an intelligent young woman not as the grating personality that she has been as a younger girl.

222868 I can't wait to read it, but I am so happy that the author is thrilled with both the boost on Ilona's blog and the recommendations of other phenomenal books, (Like Anne Bishop's The Others series). She(?) said it best,

"Since books carry a little of an author’s soul, they have a way of finding the kindred spirit in a reader.

I’m glad you’re here."
What a nice response.

I have been listening to the Bridgerton series and I have to admit that I didn't like Francesca's book that much. I don't like the change of reader mid-series, (I don't like his older women's voices at all). I know that Fran is supposed to be the "separate" child, always in the background, or the more thoughtful one, but she comes across as a coward, and a bumbling woman. This is not one of my favorites. When He Was Wicked When He Was Wicked (Bridgertons, #6) by Julia Quinn was OK but didn't impress me at all. Years have passed since her young husband's death and she sets out to find another husband, but rejects the one person who had been her best friend? What an idiot. I can only hope that Hyacinth's book is better.

222868 I just noticed that the Rylee Adamson books are free on KU. (I only checked the first few so I'm not so sure about the whole series).

Also those who read T.S.Joyce, her latest book, For the Pride of a Crow For the Pride of a Crow (Red Dead Mayhem, #3) by T.S. Joyce just came out.

222868 " and since Ms Rowland's zombie books are on an extended hiatus I wanted to check these out."

Doug I thought that the White Trash Zombie books were a complete series. I have 2 more to read. Bummer, I was excited that she had completed the series.
Also, thanks for the net galley info, I received the first book and wrote a review, so I hope to receive book # 2.

HappyBook Worm... I would like to know what that book with the cajun food in it is.

Kristi... First of all I hope that your husband is doing better, prayers and hugs to you both.
I do think that the author, "Forthright" should write a really big thank you note. I also purchased Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox. Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox (Amaranthine Saga, #1) by Forthright.

222868 Doug, that's great news. I love this family. Sadly I haven't seen anything about another family croquet game.i love their visciousness and stinging wit. This family know how to fight, LOL!

Thanks:) It was nice but very mellow. You have one coming up soon too at the end of the month, and a milestone one at that. Do you have plans for a big celebration?"

Yes I do have a milestone birthday coming up, but I have no big plans. It's on a Sunday, so I'll probably just chill, we're attending a 60th (hmmm...) Anniversary party the day before and it should be a great day. They are a wonderful family and they have practically adopted me, LOL. I might need the time to relax and recuperate from all of the laughing and dancing.

I have been reading the Kerrelyn Sparks Love at stake series, I finished How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire (Love at Stake, #1) by Kerrelyn Sparks and because we are traveling to Maine later today, I added the next two books for lighter reading. I must say that the snark between the 2 main characters had me laughing out loud. This first book is $.99, and the other 2 are $3.99, reasonable for a kindle book.

So I am off to the Mid-Coast Maine area, (near Rockland), for a couple of days. Happy Reading Everyone! :-}
I do miss perriwinkle's weekend posts :-(

222868 Doug.. I am listening to the Bridgerton series too. To Sir Phillip, With Love To Sir Phillip, With Love (Bridgertons, #5) by Julia Quinn I hope that all goes well with your daughters' baby delivery. Do you know what she is having, or is it a surprise? Even induced, there is no guarantee that she is going to have the baby right away, you might be there on time.

melindeeloo... Sorry I missed it, but Happy Belated Birthday!! You usually do something good for it, did you go anywhere special? I hope that it was a restful day with lots of reading time involved. :-)

Lisa... That's a lot of very young grandbabies to have to run around after, it must have been great! Congrats on the future grandbaby #4. You must be excited!

I haven't read the last Bourbon Kings books yet either. Just another series to add to the pile. I like it, but don't love it, too. I was in the local CVS pharmacy and the hardcover book of The Beast was only $5.00/US.

222868 I finished Slaying It Slaying It (Chicagoland Vampires, #13.5) by Chloe Neill . I really liked a quick little visit with Ethan and Merit.

222868 TINNGG... I happen to agree with you. There is something about that castle and it's location that is very important. They did know about the tunnels because they attempted to use them. I do like that they are afraid of whatever Elana's alter ego is. I love it when the scariest bad ass is a woman. LOL!

222868 Sharon... Thanks for reminding me about the Chicagoland Vampires novella. I forgot to look for it on my kindle today.

If anyone is interested in trying out Audible there is 65% off today on the Prime Day deals. I can't click on it because I am already an Audible member and it won't show me the deal. I download my books to my phone and listen with earbuds. You don't have to have a separate device to listen to your books.

Doug thanks for the roomba info. I actually do have an oriental rug with a black background, and I also have stairs that I don't want it to tumble down.

222868 Vinity... While my KU doesn't expire until Dec. 2019, I usually take advantage every other year for 2 years. it just adds onto your existing KU subscription.

Liz... Are you getting the KU special for a year?

222868 For whatever reason I have been DL'ing books on KU or cheaper priced books about the settlers in the western territories from the mid to late 1800's. I did find an author that wrote a reasonably good tale, Dianna Dianna (The Brittler Sisters #1) by Josephine Blake which is about a rich young woman drawn to be a mail order bride, who finds a very different man when she gets there. Also I read the sequel to Dianna which is Little Rose. Little Rose (Brittler Sisters #2) by Josephine Blake I have no interest in reading about the other sisters, who remain in NYC and find their husbands.

I listened to the 3rd Bridgerton book, An Offer From a Gentleman. An Offer From a Gentleman (Bridgertons, #3) by Julia Quinn which I liked a lot and jumped right into Romancing Mister Bridgerton Romancing Mister Bridgerton (Bridgertons, #4) by Julia Quinn I love this outspoken and crazy family, and can't wait to see just who is the scandal sheet author.

222868 Paula did you know that you can increase the reading speed? I generally listen at about 1.5 x's the normal speed. It is an option on the Audible app. I also agree about Bronson Pinchot, I forgot to mention him.
