What do you mean, if you had the room?!? Who needs a sofa or bed, you could always sit or sleep on the floor. Get rid of that useless furniture and just make the room! ;-) lol

Being a guy, I don't have a purse to keep a book in, but as far back as I can remember I've always been sure to take a book with me where ever I go in case I have some free time to read. My friends and family actually worry if they don't see me with a book in hand, no matter where I'm at. :-)

Me too! That's part of my addiction "problem." I just have to have complete series, and they're not always series I like to read, I just like to have them, like certain mystery series like P.D. James or Sara Paretsky because they're classics, that sort of thing.

King's "The Beekeeper's Apprentice" is a a great start to a great mystery series. She has the next book in that series coming out in April.

If you haven't read it already, you're going to really like The Girl with the Pearl Earring. Cevalier does great art-themed historical fiction.

The Shamus Awards are awarded by the Private Eye Writers of America (PWA). The PWA defines a “private eye” as any mystery protagonist who is a professional investigator, but not a police officer or government agent, “a person paid for investigative work but not employed by a unit of government. Thus books and stories about private investigators (licensed and unlicensed), lawyers and reporters who do their own legwork, and other hired agents are eligible; works centering on law enforcement officers or amateur sleuths are not.” The Eye Award is given for Lifetime Achievement.

I'm afraid not. I'd say about one third of my collection is nonfiction, reference stuff you don't really read cover to cover. The rest of my collection is fiction, one third read and one third unread. I'm just as much a collector as a reader.
