21857 I have now finished 13 tasks - halfway there!

21857 Congrats Crusader.

I forgot to update (and have been super busy with silly season - REALLY looking forward to a break on 20 Jan!!).

My 4th quarter total was actually 4728 (so Crusader still won) and my grand total was 17004.

Wow, that's a lot of long books!

21857 Good luck. I pray that you have no nausea and just to get relax and enjoy the books while the medicine and staff do their parts to heal you!

21857 I'm going to skip this one. I want to take a different approach to reading for a while so will not sign up for every single challenge. That has been fun but I'm planning on reading more stuff that had been sitting around waiting and doing some research on topics that interest me. I will still be doing the big challenges and and book or author of the month that appeal.
Looks like a fun challenge, enjoy!
21857 Ok, starting today. Not sure how much reading I will get through today as I have a sick dog and got no sleep last night.

21857 There is a forest in Mozambique that was discovered through google earth. Our herpetologists got to join the first few trips there and described a few new species (frog, chameleon and viper). The butterfly people who went also found new species if I remember correctly.

21857 Welcome Lisa. Always good to have new Pratchett fans around.

21857 And done. With that I have completed every word of the month this year and exceeded my goal of 150 books in the year.

I hope everyone is having a great festive season.I'm going to read more now as I am back to work tomorrow.

21857 I got Outside In from the library, but first I must find Inside Out and read that first.
Dec 24, 2013 12:50AM

21857 Yay. I will read it on the first as well, after work in my case too.
My Secret Santa (19 new)

21857 Amazing gifts people. Mine arrived too.

The Hobbit - Yay. My copy seems to have gone awol so I needed a new one. The bookmark inside it was a R20 off for exclusives online, so I need to do some more shopping.
A new red journal. - Yay, I love journals and red is one of my favourite colours.
A couple of chocolates. - I love chocolate, but how it survived the post I don't know.
But the bestest was:
www.thegroovygiraffe.com/gladiators-a...
It is a pop up colosseum with a story book, map of the colosseum, cards of each gladiator and a board game on the cover. It is incredible!

Thank you loads, secret Santa.

I know it is someone from JHB, but not sure which one.
21857 I'm behind on my planned reading so I need to do some catch up before I start this.

21857 That looks good to me.

I know there are game parks all over, but why I always pick Addo, is because it is a National Park which is pretty big and had the Big 5 (actually they talk about having the Big 7 as the marine section is part of the protected area and includes Southern Right Whale and Great White Shark). You are highly likely to see 4 of the big 5 on a visit to Addo but very few people see Leopard. Despite the size of the park, you will see elephant!

You are welcome to stay with me while in PE. I will look into options of travelling PE to Cape Town. Even the bus is worth it as you get to see some of the Garden Route. One option would be for me to drive you to Tsitsikamma on Monday, we spend the day and night there and on Tuesday you catch the bus to Cape Town while I drive home.

Flying around SA is cheapest if you watch for specials. Once we have a finalised itinerary, mostly for dates, we can watch out for the specials and let you know or book them for you.

21857 Awesome Lu. Good luck.

21857 I'm sure there is lots to do in JHB. I grew up there. The main things I dislike about it is the fact that due to altitude I get tired much quicker and I can't wear my contact lenses as it is too dry. I also find it to much of a rushed lifestyle or atmosphere but that is because I am used to the laid back relaxed version we have at the coast.
Dec 06, 2013 02:26AM

21857 Yeah. I forgot about that
