21857 I read Divergent a month or so ago. Loved it and got hold of the second one today... Looking forward to reading it soon.

As to factions, I loved the idea of Erudite (that is the knowledge one, right?) but not how they were portrayed. I am a scientist, so search for knowledge is what I love, but the faction seemed to be more about using their knowledge for power.

21857 He started in PE in 1975 and moved to JHB a year later. He was involved in outside broadcasts at some stage and also Telecine. He moved to the Video Lab at some stage. I was only born in 78 so can't remember details. I used to go in with him when he fixed cameras on weekends, but that was Video Lab days.

Desomnd, did you by any chance work with Peter King when you were there?

21857 Autobiography, have you tried Marley + Me by John Grogan. I adore that book, and laugh or cry my way through it every time. Ok, I am very much an animal person and have a Labbie of my own, but it is worth a try...

I know how you feel. Reading a later part in a series is like starting a book half way through for me!!

21857 Hey Lu

I know you online (cos you just responded to another comment). Can I have # 37 please?
Apr 25, 2012 02:26AM

21857 Oh, I have to take part in this. SABC is the reason my parents moved to SA, was my dad's employer for a good number of years and is now again indirectly his employer!

Awesome! Thanks. I have been busy over the past few days as my folks were in town for my graduation. I kept reading Dance of Dragons as I have been meaning to read it and it counts towards the Epic Challenge anyway. I was planning to look for another long one today, but will take this "free pass" as I was definitely less than 30% in when I received the challenge!! I might not have done if it was a shorter book as I am a fast reader anyway.

21857 Typical, I started Dance of Dragons a few days ago. No worries, I am sure I have others on my list that will qualify. At least I am a quick reader...
