I read
His Bloody Project: Documents Relating to the Case of Roderick Macrae thanks to Lea recommending it to me, and oh my god I loved it!!!

It's time for the April wrap-up! Comment here and let us know how your reading went this month, if you had trouble completing this month's task, if you enjoyed the book you read and whether you'd recommend it.

I bought
Assassin's Apprentice after finding it at a used bookstore yesterday. I wanted to read it for this challenge so that worked out well :) I'm going to get some other books too.

I'm probably going to read Robin Hobb, I've been meaning to read her for a while.
Jamie wrote: "Would Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children count?"No, although it's fantasy it is written by a man :)
Eve wrote: "No March Wrap-Up thread this month?
I read Kindred by Octavia Butler, which I loved, and We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson, which I sadly didn't like."oops it totally slipped my mind, still can't believe it's now april 2nd.
I just started the thread though so thanks for the reminder!!!!

It's time for the March wrap-up!

Juliana wrote: "I think I'm going to read The Flight Attendant by Chris Bohjalian. A friend on here told me it involves an unreliable narrator. Then I'll read at least one more but I haven't decide..."I put that on hold, but it hasn't come in yet. I really love his writing and I'm super excited to read it since it's new!

omg I remember you recommending His Bloody Project to me - I'm gonna read that!

I finished it last night. I couldn't put it down lol.
I wanted to SCREAM at that ending. And when
(view spoiler)[he paralyzed her... THE FUCK!!!! That was one of the sickest things I ever read! And how many times could he have been caught/stopped and got away with it?! Wow, men really get away with shit.
So infuriating. Poor Clarice. (hide spoiler)]

I'm finally reading it. About 100 pages in. I'm liking it, although (or maybe because?) it is dark as hell.
Eve wrote: "I’m planning on reading Shutter Island! Sometimes I feel like the only person who really loves the movie, so I’m curious how the book compares."omg! i liked the movie too. i may find a copy too!

no worries, I can't believe the month is already basically over, the wrap up thread got posted late lol

A thread where you can let us know how your reading went this month, if you had trouble completing this month's task, if you enjoyed the book you read and whether you'd recommend it.

I believe other people will be reading this... so if you are, we can discuss here!
Synopsis: Staring unflinchingly into the abyss of slavery, this spellbinding novel transforms history into a story as powerful as Exodus and as intimate as a lullaby.
Sethe was born a slave and escaped to Ohio, but eighteen years later she is still not free. She has too many memories of Sweet Home, the beautiful farm where so many hideous things happened. Her new home is haunted by the ghost of her baby, who died nameless and whose tombstone is engraved with a single word: Beloved.

This month, read a book with an unreliable narrator!
I will come back and update with recs
