I think those will count :) unless Lea disagrees ;)

I wanna read that Murakami book now, too. I LOVED his book on writing and running. I love his fiction books but I think What I Talk About When I Talk About Running may be my favorite out of everything he's done. I read it at the most appropriate time in my life so it really struck me.

Yeah, sounds like it is more appropriate for the celeb month!
January Wrap-Up (30 new)

208213 I read (well, listened to) Psycho which before recently I never even knew existed as a novel before the iconic film was made. I really liked the book and found it truly frightening -- the narrator did a CREEPILY excellent job as Norman. I need to catch up on Bates Motel; I haven't watched anything since mid season 2 and this year is the final season. Curious to know what parts of the book were used, if any, for the show.

I also read The Terror which was a monster of a book but every page was worth it. One of the books strengths was having so many differeent characters offering various perspectives on the expedition. I'm so excited to see how the hell they are going to adapt this as a miniseries -- it's supposed to come out this year but I haven't seen any promos for it!

I FINALLY got my copy of Annihilation and was able to start it today, so hopefully by tonight or tomorrow that will be done, too. It's really short and moves quickly. I'm SO excited about the film adaptation and seeing the tower/tunnel translated into visuals!!!

208213 I just started the book! Trying to avoid scrolling up to see the comments in case there aren't spoiler cuts, lol

I love it, I'm about 60 pages in. Will hopefully finish tonight.

It's being made into an animated film this year. I look forward to seeing it.

Ohh I may have to read that! I read another one of her books before, Moon at Nine.
208213 I just finished The Terror and I loved it! Can't wait for the show. It's supposed to come on AMC this year but other than the cast, I haven't heard anything else.

So I'm still gonna read Annihilation (picking it up tomorrow, yeaaaah!!!)

I'm also gonna count Psycho, which I listened to as an audiobook, since Bates Motel's last season is this year!
208213 I'm kind of curious about that book now, Kelly! lol

I do too many challenges, lol. I like to do monthly and yearly ones. Whenever I finish a book I spend like a half hour going through all my challenges to see which ones I can apply it to, lol.

If you don't want strict deadlines or page limits then Stress Free Reading Challenges is a great one. Lots of cute ones in there! I'm currently doing the Stamp collecting and a couple in the "Animal Planet" folder. https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...

The Challenge Factory is my other favorite. https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...

I really liked Everything, Everything. It was one of those books that I didn't want to put down. I hope you both like it! I may have to pop in the discussion thread just to add my thoughts too, lol.

The March books are SOOO GOOD!! I actually haven't read the third one yet but the first two were so powerful. They should be taught in schools. (I think I read that they are, actually)

208213 I'm so bummed my library copy hasn't come in yet :(
208213 oh yeah, I was gonna suggest to you that we make an official group reading challenge! I'm gonna add a how to add a shelf in the good reads how to thread, just in case anyone needs it!
208213 K. wrote: "Just grabbed Annihilation from the library. Going to start it as soon as I finish my current book (either today or tomorrow). Looking forward to it!"

I'm gonna read that one too, but I'm waiting for my library copy to come in! There is a thread up for that book in the January folder, and I plan on posting in there as i'm reading it, so please join me if you want to! :)

208213 If you don't know how to create a new topic for your book, I added it to the how to section, but if you have any questions about it please let us know!!!

I also created a new topic thread for Annihilation if anyone else is going to read that too :)

208213 HOW TO ADD A NEW TOPIC

Step 1: Go to the folder you want to create your topic in. For example, I created a new topic for my January book, Annihilation.

Step 2:
In the folder, click New Topic

Step 3:
Please fill out the "topic" section with: "Discussion Post - [name of book, (author)]" and add your book/author to the "this topic is about":

So that it looks like this:

Then you're all set! Please include a summary of your book in your comment.
