Swat valley in Pakistan: I didn't expect to use this book for this challenge, but the way Malala described her home region made me wish I could go there. I would have loved to see the ancient 20 ft. Buddha carving on the side of the cliff (The face was destroyed by the Taliban in 2007)
While researching while I was writing this I found out they actually started to restore the carving in 2012 and it was completed in 2016!

Awesome! I've updated the completed list and got you added on there!
Also, Brian has completed his first challenge!

remember you can add any book you've read during 2019 to a second challenge. (as long you didn't use it in your first challenge)

I loved how this book is written like an old classic despite being published in 2016! I feel like this is one of those stories you could reread at different times in your life and get something completely new from it each time. I'm looking forward to rereading it in about 10 years.

I'm excited to finally read the book. I put a hold on a copy at my library and should be able to go pick it up in a day or two.

I completed my first challenge! Msg 28.
Thanks,
Jennifer"
Well done, Thanks Jennifer!
I went through the thread and it looks like Betty (message 37) has completed her challenge as well! I also saw a lot of challenges that are close to being complete! :)

I'm also having a hard time because while I think the jokes are funny, it is hard to read this as a light comedy when the setting is so serious and upsetting.
