I recommend House of Stairs by William Sleator. It has a bit of a sci-fi feel to it and is also a little suspenseful. I read it when I was around 12 years old and still think about it often.I also agree with Sarina's suggestion of Abarat it's one of my favorites and very weird. (There are two other books in this series as well!)
Nell wrote: "Suggested theme: Reading Around the WorldRead #_ books NOT set in the country where you live.
Each book set in a different country - no two books set in the same country.
I like this theme idea a lot, Nell! It ties in nicely with the Around the World challenge too!
I'm a little concerned that not everyone will have books on their tbr's that are set in 5 different countries.
I'd love to hear feedback from others participating in this challenge!
Last year I was a few books shy of blackout, so my goal this year is to actually complete it!21/25
2. Re-read a favorite
4. A book that your favorite fictional character would read
11. Poetry
22. A non-human narrator The Tale of Despereaux
